What does the Pain Cave look like? It looks like Powerline Climb at mile 80 of Leadville, with pitches over 20% grade at nearly 11,000 feet altitude. What does it sound like? For me, it sounds like Megan saying “I am so proud of you” over and over. Before last year, every Leadville record attempt was scuttled around Powerline. It’s just so hard to run that high for that long, and the GOATs of the past are the GOATs for a reason (even if they didn’t have our advantages of high carb, bicarb, and plated shoes). In 2024, I barely survived the climb, almost passing out at the top. In 2025, though, I had a not-so-secret secret: Megan is the best coach in the world. She started pacing me at mile 77, and I went silent. I knew the Pain Cave was coming. It’s dark. It’s scary. It’s where I failed so emphatically at Western States. Megan’s voice filled the silence. “I’m so proud of you.” “I love you.” “We’re making history.” “I”m just talking, don’t respond.” I went stealth mode before the race, only telling a few loved ones that I was doing it. My goal was to absolutely obliterate myself, and to share love while doing it. Or, as Megan told me before the start line: “time to redecorate the Pain Cave.” So what does the Pain Cave feel like? The easiest way to describe it is a deep part of your brain screams STOP STOP STOP, a signal from billions of years of evolution. It feels more reptile than human. Megan countered that screaming with love. She bedazzled the the Pain Cave. We put 7+ minutes on my 2024 ghost in the final 23 miles (and infinity minutes on my Western States ghost, who is still panicking somewhere outside Foresthill). 100 milers will always be a trip into the Pain Cave. Megan helped me rediscover that the blood and tears that inevitably splatter all over the walls can be used to paint a big, bright heart ❤️ Coach Vince Lombardi famously said that “Winning isn’t everything. It’s the only thing.” Utter BS. I have the best coach in the world, and she taught me the truth: “Love isn’t everything. It’s the only thing.” ♥️💜💙🧡 Video by brilliant Director Cody Bare! Full documentary coming in September!

I remember the “protesters” outside the abortion clinic I was taken to. I remember being escorted away from them and into the planned murderhood clinic. I remember the nurse telling me as a teen who was shaking and scared (why was I shaking and scared you might ask? Because deep down I knew it was so wrong)…the nurse told me “it’ll be okay. This is the best thing you can do for your life right now. You won’t even remember this day.” I remember they did an ultrasound but turned the screen away so I couldn’t see my baby. Sadly I didn’t even ask to see. it was a Saturday in February. Cold and snowy. All 12 of us packed in a waiting room in an abortion mill. I’ll never forget all the crying. A young teen sobbing and sobbing... I had the thought to run. But I stayed. Afterwards we couldn’t leave the abortion mill until we stopped filling pads with blood. Any woman who is reading this who has an abortion in their past, you KNOW I’m right. We all know abortion is murder. I believed all the lies. All the propaganda. I would be god. Deciding who lives and dies. I was so so stupid. Yet. Years later. God opened my eyes through His Son Jesus Christ. Repentance. Forgiveness that I DO NOT deserve. A SAVIOR who came to take away the sins of the entire world through the Cross. Amazing Grace. Apart from Christ, men and women are capable of anything. Including murder of their children in the womb. God help us. Thank you for my fellow brave brothers and sisters in Christ doing the Lord’s work. Psalm 40:2-4 King James Version 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord

To: Incredible VeeFriends Community Today, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for each and every one of you. When I embarked on this journey, little did I know that I would find a family of like-minded individuals who would inspire and uplift me in ways I could never have imagined. You are the beating heart that keeps our VeeFriends community alive and thriving. In this digital realm (web3 ) we call home, we have transcended boundaries and connected on a level that is beyond physical proximity. We come from different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life, yet we share a common passion for VeeFriends and the values it represents. Together, we have created an ecosystem of support, encouragement, and unwavering belief in one another. Every day, I witness the incredible achievements and milestones that each of you reach. From launching innovative projects, pursuing creative endeavors, and making a positive impact in your respective industries, you constantly remind me of the power of determination and resilience. Your unwavering dedication to your craft is nothing short of inspiring. But it's not just about the accomplishments and successes. It's about the collective spirit that binds us. It's the way we come together to cheer each other on, to lift each other up when we stumble, and to celebrate each other's victories. In a world that can often feel cold and disconnected, our VeeFriends community has become a sanctuary of warmth, understanding, and genuine connection. You are not just a community to me; you are a source of strength and motivation. You push me to dream bigger, to chase my passions relentlessly, and to embrace the unknown with open arms. The enthusiasm and support that permeates our interactions fuel my fire and remind me that anything is possible when we believe in ourselves and each other. In this world of VeeFriends, we are not just holders of tokens or participants in an ecosystem. We are a force for change, a collective of dreamers and doers who are shaping the future. Together, we are creating a legacy that extends far beyond the digital realm, leaving an indelible mark on the world and inspiring generations to come. So, to my remarkable VeeFriends community, thank you. Thank you for being the catalysts of change, for igniting the flames of passion within me, and for reminding me that the impossible is merely a challenge waiting to be conquered. Our journey is far from over, and I am grateful to be walking this path alongside each and every one of you. Let us continue to dream big, support one another, and celebrate the extraordinary. Together, we are unstoppable. With heartfelt appreciation and unyielding belief DOLCE 💜🖤💚❤️💙🧡🤎💛🤍 Apologies as it took me a very long time to Process and Digest VeeCon, even longer to put my full feelings & thoughts into fruition. I LOVE YOU ALL 🥹
