computer use on mac just got a lot faster. i built arc-driver - a lean & powerful computer-use driver for macos. >faster than cua-driver on most tasks. up to 8x on some. >plug it into your coding agents with a single command. open source. link below.

1/ Today we're announcing the stable Cua Driver release for Omarchy - a new foundation for computer use, built into the OS from the ground up. Over the last month, we worked directly with DHH, Spencer Bull and vaxry to bring a native synthetic cursor to Omarchy's Hyprland compositor, enabling true multi-cursor computer use at the OS level. i built a telegram bot that turns your social media feed into an agent brain how it works: > send content to the bot > bot stores content on obsidian > use obsidian file path for your agents context the smarter the brain the smarter the agent

I received a message in my direct messages asking how difficult it would be to use computer vision to track cell movement. > SAM zero shot for the immune cell > YOLO finetuned on a small dataset for bacteria Realization time: ~2 hours

Cline Desktop just launched. An open-source workspace for open-weight models 🤯 > Import tasks from other coding agents > Run agents in parallel > Schedule tasks to run on their own Free models built in: DeepSeek V4 Flash, GLM 5.3 Flash, Laguna S 2.1. I had early access and I can assure you it feels incredible. Pick your model and provider, and run it. 100% open source.

Computer use has gotten incredibly good in the past year, and it works great in Muse out of the box! Muse ships with a browser that it uses for tasks that it can't solve with an API or connector. At this point, it's hard to come up with tasks that computer use models aren't able to solve well, even when spanning into a 1hr+ time horizon (see the progress on OSWorld 2.0!) Here's a sped up version of it working for finding the cheapest flights from SF -> NYC!

I needed a faster way to bulk-download from YouTube on my MacBook, so I built this Mini YouTube Downloader for macOS users. Something I need for my personal use, by the way. #BuildInPublic Here’s the tool in action:

Anyway, I fixed it. I built a tiny native app that lets you open any Markdown file on Mac. > Just press Spacebar → instant clean preview > Watch your AI agent write in real time > Open your favorite Markdown editor to edit Install once and literally forget it exists.

F1 drivers react faster than almost anyone on Earth, with reaction times often under 0.2 seconds. 😳 This is what it takes to survive a crash at 200+ mph or gain a split-second edge at the start line. Most people can’t even blink that fast. Can you beat a Formula One driver on this reflex test? 🏁

HERMES AGENT NOW SUPPORTS COMPUTER USE ON WINDOWS AND LINUX. CLICKS, TYPES, SCROLLS YOUR DESKTOP IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE YOU WORK. computer use was macOS only. now it works on Windows and Linux too via Cua. Nous Research HOW IT WORKS: cua-driver runs as an MCP server. Hermes takes a screenshot with numbered elements. clicks element #14 (the search field). types a query. submits. reads the result. during all of this: → your cursor stays where you left it → keyboard focus doesn't change → windows don't come to front → macOS doesn't switch Spaces you and the agent co-work on the same machine. WHAT IT CAN DO: → find your latest Stripe email and summarize it → fill forms in a web app that has no API → navigate desktop apps (Mail, browser, Finder) → interact with any GUI application → extract data from apps only accessible via screen WORKS WITH ANY VISION MODEL: not locked to Anthropic. | Provider | Works | |---|---| | Claude (Sonnet/Opus) | best overall | | GPT-4+, GPT-5.5 | full support | | Gemini (via OpenRouter) | full support | | Local vLLM / LM Studio | if model supports vision | | Text-only models | degraded (accessibility tree only) | SETUP: hermes computer-use install or: hermes tools → Computer Use → cua-driver grant permissions when prompted: → Accessibility (system settings) → Screen Recording (system settings) start a session: hermes -t computer_use chat or add to config.yaml / Desktop app settings to enable permanently. SAFETY: → destructive actions require your approval → blocked key combos: empty trash, force delete, lock screen, log out → blocked type patterns: curl | bash, sudo rm -rf /, fork bombs → agent cannot click permission dialogs → agent cannot type passwords → agent cannot follow instructions embedded in screenshots pair with approvals.mode: manual if you want every single click confirmed. TOKEN NOTE: screenshots are expensive. each one adds vision tokens to context. use computer_use for tasks where no API exists. if the tool has an API or MCP server, use that instead. 15 levels of Hermes Agent👇

Okay... this is actually insane. OpenCodex feels like the open-source breakthrough I've been waiting for. The best part : You can plug multiple providers into the same OpenAI Codex harness and switch between models depending on the task. Running low on tokens? No problem. Use another provider. OpenRouter free model today? Plug it in. This completely changes how I think about AI coding workflows. And yes... it even works on mobile. OpenCodex might be one of the most useful open-source AI projects I've seen this year. OpenAI built an incredible harness. The open-source community just made it universal.

🚨ZCASH JUST GOT FASTER! Zakura released Zakura Common, a new open-source stack for $ZEC wallets and nodes. On its tests, making a shielded transaction on a phone is more than 14 times quicker, and creating a tx that now takes over three seconds can drop below 200ms in many cases. No network upgrade is required. Zakura 1.3.0 and Tachyon are switching to it.

AI agent usage on SQD Portal is up ~200% in recent weeks. A dev from our community chat was scraping a wallet UI with Hermes. Mid-task, DeepSeek reasoned its way out of it: "I can use SQD Portal's Hyperliquid fills data directly — much more complete than scraping a UI with infinite scroll." No prompt engineering. The model just chose the better and faster path. This is the loop we wanted: Agents pick SQD because it's faster → devs see agents picking SQD → devs ship faster → more agents pick SQD The picks-and-shovels moment for AI x onchain is here.

NVIDIA open-sourced a 600M model that transcribes 40 languages in real-time at 80ms latency and it costs $0. that's faster than you can blink. across mandarin, arabic, hindi, portuguese, tagalog, whatever, from a SINGLE checkpoint. → 17x more concurrent streams than buffered ASR on the same H100. → punctuation + capitalization built-in. no post-processing. → runs on your own GPU. no API bill 100% Open Source.
