I have had the absolute privilege of seeing Joan Pradells in competition. The muscle, condition and energy he brings to the bodybuilding stage is simply phenomenal. An outstanding young professional. More muscle Joan, more conditioning. Brutal

A confidential intelligence leak inside a federal agency sent a cartel death squad armed with heavy construction bulldozers into a quiet border town—razing dozens of mansions, abducting hundreds of innocent residents, and dissolving them in diesel barrels over an entire weekend while local police were ordered to turn off their radios. In early 2011, the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) scored an extraordinary intelligence coup: an operative convinced an incarcerated high-ranking Zeta lieutenant to surrender the secret BlackBerry PIN numbers belonging to the supreme commanders of Los Zetas, Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales ("Z-40") and his brother Omar ("Z-42"). With these PINs, intelligence agencies could track the elusive leaders' real-time GPS locations across northern Mexico. Then came a catastrophic breach of trust: A DEA supervisor shared the sensitive PIN data with a specialized vetted unit of the Mexican Federal Police in Mexico City. Almost immediately, a corrupt official inside the Mexican security apparatus leaked the intelligence directly back to Z-40. Realizing someone in his inner circle had betrayed him to American agents, Z-40 looked at the handful of trusted lieutenants who managed his communications in Coahuila: Héctor Moreno and the Garza family, based in the peaceful ranching town of Allende, just 35 miles south of Eagle Pass, Texas. Fearing for their lives, Moreno and the Garzas fled across the border into the United States to turn themselves in to federal agents. Z-40 didn't just hunt the defectors. He decided to obliterate their entire family trees and every trace of their existence. On the evening of Friday, March 18, 2011, roughly fifty pickup trucks loaded with heavily armed Zeta hitmen rolled into Allende: The Police Complicity: The mayor and local municipal police were placed on cartel payroll. Officers received direct orders: stop patrolling the streets, ignore all emergency 911 calls, and detain anyone with the last names Garza or Moreno and hand them over to the sicarios. The Demolition: Cartel crews brought in commercial bulldozers, backhoes, and heavy excavators. They systematically smashed through the gates of luxury ranches and downtown estates, tearing down walls, looting safes, and inviting neighbors to strip away furniture, appliances, and copper wiring before setting the rubble on fire. The Industrial Crematoriums: Captives, including distant relatives, cooks, maids, ranch hands, and children, were loaded onto flatbed trucks and hauled to nearby ranches like Los Tres Hermanos. There, victims were shot, thrown into 55-gallon steel drums, doused in diesel fuel, and incinerated through the night. The ashes and bone fragments were subsequently dumped into regional drainage wells and irrigation canals. Over the course of three days, roughly 40 homes and seven entire ranches were reduced to smoking debris. While official government figures initially acknowledged 28 missing persons, investigative reports by journalists like Ginger Thompson (ProPublica) and independent human rights monitors revealed that an estimated 300 innocent people vanished during the slaughter across Allende and neighboring municipalities. The massacre remained cloaked in complete institutional silence for nearly three years: Not a single local newspaper dared publish a word out of fear of public decapitations, and state officials quietly archived missing-persons complaints. It was only after defectors testified in federal courtrooms in San Antonio and Austin years later that the full scale of the devastation, and the DEA intelligence leak that triggered it, was brought into global daylight.
