Wait ... so now a Republican is mad that Democrats are cutting regulations to make it easier to build stuff? Everything is happening upside down!

you sound like a communist who wants the government to ban property owners from building what they want

What did you think 'Eliminate the red tape to build more homes" meant? Vibes? Essays?

Quick refresher, since folks seem to be confused:

fake "environmental review" red tape about building heights is nonsense, how do you not understand this as a Republican?

@MaureenMul32902 How much you wanna bet this goes through because the invisible powers that burned the Palisades to dust want these in Malibu? Meanwhile friends who bought neighboring properties in seal beach can’t even build their side by side house because of the CCC(P).

We need to maintain local control of zoning laws. We don’t want our beautiful beach towns to look like downtown cities.

Right now it's impossible to build a tiny home on the California coast. I'm not sure how this is going to allow any sort of major buildings with the California coastal Commision still in control.... You lost me on this one Carl move onto the next important item

There's going to be a lot of livid Californians who currently have Ocean views that are going to be blocked by these Towers. 😅

Doesn't the Coastal Commission talk to their buddies in the Air Resources Board? Isn't climate change supposed to put the coast underwater? Who would want to waste money building anything on the coast if that's true?

What about the “coastal commission” ? I thought they were holding up just replacing the houses that got burned down. Also, not surprised

If this is approved, the leftists who claim to be environmentalists will prove themselves to be frauds.

talk about GETTING IT WRONG... Beach traffic in San Diego is bad enough NOW, especially PB and trying to get to/from the freeway from Point Loma. Imagine HIGH RISE CONDOS in OB or PB within a few blocks of the beach. (Free) Parking will disappear, GRIDLOCK will be CONSTANT.

I went to Miami beach a few years ago. It was clean and nice. I don't think using Miami as a scare tactic is a good idea.

Why only the coast? Remove environmental reviews throughout the state!

It’s happening everywhere! They’re trying to build a 7 story apartment in my suburb. We had ordinances not allowing more than 3 stories. Those were way too easy to undo.

Get the control out of Sacramento and the Coastal Commission's hands and give it to local authorities that their voters can hold accountable.
