@theage @smh And 40million mobiles, 85 million tablets & laptops…you never gave a fuck about security before. How much did the LNP invest into cyber security? Nothing- leaving much of our data to be leaked. LNP did pass laws that police could plant material on devices & without a warrant.

China has far more 'private' data on all of us than most people imagine: access to iPhone encryption keys, DNA data from various 'Ancestry' services, and much more. The real weakness lies in 'privacy and data-sharing' agreements that people consent to without fully understanding the implications. Sometimes the data is just harvested without any consent, which is becoming more prevalent these days.

@theage @smh

@theage @smh REMEMBER THIS

@theage @smh Just two? I don't buy that for a second.

@theage @smh They're doing next to nothing to prevent foreign interference, if it's from China.

@theage @smh Yes that foreign entity is israel & israel pretending to be another country. Epstein’s army

@theage @smh Labor govt does not protect Australians from foreign govt. They just sit watch and doing nothing. Like the Bondi terrorists

@theage @smh It’s not just EVs, it is all new cars. And it’s been happening for years. And you sign off on it when buying a new car

@theage @smh Don't buy a Chinese car. The old school cars can't be tracked and don't listen to anything.

@theage @smh AUSTRALIANS DONT WANT ELECTRIC VEHICLES , THEY ARE SUICIDE CARS, ILL STICK TO MY 4 CYLINDER FORD THANKS AT LEAST I KNOW I WONT BE BLOWN TO PIECES

@catswoodlife @theage @smh I wouldn’t have an electric vehicle in a hundred years!!

So when my crew talked about this on radio ten years ago we weren't actually "Conservative conspiracy nuts"?

@theage @smh 08 Foz doesn't have this problem.

@JulesP4472 @theage @smh All that translates to is they are money laundering through investigations and nothing will come from them. We've heard it thousands of times.

@theage @smh China made cars … how about facial recognition used by Bunnings!

@theage @smh Thats why i love my 20 year old Rav4! Shes a little beast.

@theage @smh Thanks to Labor, parliament is nothing but foreign interference! He needs to be gone!!! And the funny this is, it’s illegal for Albo the dimwit to be doing any of this crap!! Feel free to smash the complaints. We might get lucky!

Meanwhile: “Palantir Technologies has a **moderate but growing and strategically significant presence** in Australia, primarily focused on **government contracts** in defense, national security, and financial intelligence, alongside notable **commercial partnerships**. As of early 2026 (current date: February 6, 2026), here's a breakdown based on publicly reported data from sources like AusTender, Palantir's announcements, and investigative reporting. ### Government Contracts and Security Clearance - **Total value since 2013**: More than **$50 million AUD** in Australian government contracts, predominantly with defense and national security agencies. Some reports cite figures around **$37 million** since 2014, but recent AusTender-based analyses push the cumulative total higher to over $50 million. - This includes multiple deals with the **Department of Defence** (e.g., a **$7.15 million** 3-year contract in 2024 for data services, and others totaling over $11 million in defense-specific work). - A notable long-term partnership with **AUSTRAC** (Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre), the financial intelligence unit, dating back to 2017 and renewed/extended multiple times (e.g., an $8.1 million extension in 2023 running to 2025). Palantir's Gotham and Foundry platforms help integrate and analyze large-scale financial data to combat money laundering, terrorism financing, and criminal networks. - **Recent milestone**: In November 2025, Palantir achieved **IRAP PROTECTED-level certification** under Australia's Information Security Registered Assessors Program. This high-level security clearance (assessed independently per Australian Signals Directorate standards) allows it to handle sensitive government data, unlocking broader opportunities across federal agencies and even some private-sector work requiring similar protections. - **Other agencies**: Contracts or usage reported with entities like the **Australian Signals Directorate** (ASD) and **Department of Veterans' Affairs**. No major confirmed deals with police forces (e.g., state-level AFP involvement appears limited or indirect), and nothing prominent in health or Services Australia (though FOI requests have probed potential ties). The Australian subsidiary (Palantir Technologies Australia Pty Ltd) reported **$25.5 million** in revenue from customer contracts in 2024 (per its financial filings, though unaudited). ### Commercial and Private-Sector Ties Palantir has expanded into major Australian businesses, often for workforce optimization, supply chain analytics, and AI-driven operations: - **Coles Supermarkets**: A 3-year partnership (announced 2024) to deploy Palantir platforms across 850+ stores for workforce strategy, analytics, and supply chain tools—impacting data for around 120,000 employees. - **Rio Tinto** and **WesTrac**: Long-term enterprise contracts renewed for mining operations, using Palantir's AI platforms for industrial efficiency. - Others: Reported usage by Westpac and the Victorian Department of Justice. ### Broader Context and Concerns Palantir's Australian footprint is smaller than in the US (where government contracts dominate revenue) or UK (hundreds of millions in NHS/defense deals), but it's strategically embedded in sensitive areas like defense and financial crime intelligence. The IRAP clearance in late 2025 positions it for potential expansion. Critics (e.g., Digital Rights Watch, Greens politicians, and human rights groups) have raised alarms over privacy risks, surveillance capabilities, and Palantir's international roles (e.g., with US ICE or Israeli military), calling for transparency and freezes on new contracts. In mid-2025, Palantir hired Australian lobbyists amid backlash. Australia's **Future Fund** (sovereign wealth fund) holds over **$100 million** in Palantir shares as of early 2026 disclosures. 2/

@theage @smh The concern here is their software isn’t open source, so is there a dead man switch hidden in the software? Great way to halt traffic during a conflict.

@theage @smh shut up you corrupt idiot

@theage @smh Omg 😨 they’re everywhere 👀

@theage @smh But at the same time ignores the Israeli cucks walking around parliament house. This propaganda designed to distract the public from the real political interference that plague's our country. McKenzie is a fucking joke.

@theage @smh I don't think the Australian government should play "saint" on this matter... hahahaha y'all citizens have been watched and listened to for decades now, and everyday they loose their privacy and civil liberties more and more...shit men are addicted to greed, lust and power.

@theage @smh The same country that we are giving subsidies to for fuck sale

@theage @smh Bridget, putting on my tin foil hat here, whats in the wind turbine engines? 🤦♀️😳

@theage @smh Why didnt these people see this coming from a mile away because the average aussie with a brain did

To all Australians who have bought or are thinking of buying a Chinese vehicle. Two points. All proceeds from your purchase assist the funding of the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Liberation Army. Australia’s $1-billion spend on submarines is a result of China being identified as Australia’s most significant military threat. You are literally buying deadly weapons and ammunition that could potentially be used against your family. How do you reconcile that?

@theage @smh I hate to enlighten the good senator but, as I have a phone that I carry everywhere, a myriad of apps are tracking what I am watching, saying, where I am going pretty much all the time. Half the time I wonder if american companies for instance know more about me than i do.

@theage @smh Politicians phones tapped by asio can they list the results

@theage @smh Time you had the honourable scrubbed . Sports rorts should be enough to remove it . Oh and colour coded spread sheets .

@theage @smh What on earth could a Ford Ranger wanker have to say of interest to anyone other than the broken down duck lipped broad sitting next to him?

@theage @smh The cars are listening to the coalition and driving themselves off the road.

@Perth_Today @theage @smh What about mobility scooters? They enter all premises including APH
