Oil sold off the moment the Iran peace deal appeared. That part makes perfect sense. Nobody wants to be long crude into open supply routes and normalizing tanker flows. The fundamental value of oil is closer to 50 a barrel than 150. But here is where it gets interesting. If this were only supply normalizing, the curve would still hold its shape. Inventories are drained. Tankers are disrupted. Refineries are scrambling. As long as demand is firm, the curve should stay in strong backwardation. Backwardation means front-month crude trades above later contracts. It is the market telling you it wants barrels today. It is a sign of tightness. That backwardation is nearly gone. The prompt spread, the first two contracts, has narrowed to under a buck. The three-month spread has dropped to just over 2, after being 30 not long ago. The front is selling off far harder than the back. Some of that is supply normalizing. The good kind. But when the curve gets this close to contango this fast, it points to something more troubling. Contango is what a glut looks like in the futures market. Too much oil for the demand in front of it. The curve is not there yet. But it is moving that way. And that is the warning. You have to be careful about exactly why oil is plunging this far, this fast.

#KarenRead How are content creators other than the blogger charged with 18 + crimes related to witness intimidation contributing to the harassment of the witnesses? Two examples: On the left we have a content creator who tells her audience she presents the case as "fact" based from "court records" and yet we hear as recently as the latest episode an opinion not rooted in fact about Colin Albert. She states he has a temper and tendency to fight and yet nothing was presented at trial to establish this. No police reports of fights, no testimony with first hand experience that Colin was rage filled. Not a thing save two social media posts presented during his cross examination which could be interpreted as nothing more than typical teenage bravado. And yet because she consistently repeats she is objective & fact based, there is a possibility her audience will be misled into thinking her opinion is established fact, not gossip or speculation. On the right we have another content creator who allowed two prominent FKR "movement" Canton residents to present gossip and innuendo about Colin as fact. Neither one of these women had a single bit of evidence to support their libel. No police reports. No specific, verifiable incidents. Nothing. And yet Brian broadcast this gossip with no fact checking or pushback as to its veracity. What has happened to these witnesses is shameful and so many content creators swooped in and sought financial gain by participating in it. Subtle and overt have no difference when it is destroying an innocent person's life. Someday we will collectively look back and realize this.

On the right we have another content creator who allowed two prominent FKR "movement" Canton residents to present gossip and innuendo about Colin as fact. Neither one of these women had a single bit of evidence to support their libel. No police reports. No specific, verifiable incidents. Nothing. And yet Brian broadcast this gossip with no fact checking or pushback as to its veracity. What has happened to these witnesses is shameful and so many content creators swooped in and sought financial gain by participating in it. Subtle and overt have no difference when it is destroying an innocent person's life. Someday we will collectively look back and realize this.

Moskowitz: We need $30 billion to extend, obviously, these healthcare subsidies, which allow Americans—Americans, not illegal—Americans, citizens, to afford healthcare. And the president’s like, “We don’t have $30 billion, but I am going to send $40 billion to my dear friend in Argentina.” I mean, literally, these things are happening simultaneously. Yet we’re not allowed to go to D.C., we’re not allowed to sit down across a table, we’re not allowed to make a deal on healthcare. It is the wildest thing ever. And the Republicans are like, “Well, healthcare is too expensive.” Well, welcome to the dance, guys. You’ve been voting against all changes to healthcare since 2008—before then, even. You’re still in the concept-of-a-plan stage. It’s been nine years stuck in the concept of a plan; the product is never coming to market. I’m sure we can figure out some things that they want, some things that we want. There’s some bipartisan agreement to help Americans afford their healthcare. Everything’s more expensive since Donald Trump has become president—it’s not a lie. Every American knows it. Everything you do is more expensive. But healthcare is something that is going up exponentially—prescription drugs exponentially. There’s bipartisan support to do something. But first, the Speaker has to let us, like, I don’t know, be a Congress. I didn’t think that would even be in question, where the Speaker’s like, “You’re never—you’re not going to come back.”

ONCE EUROPE GETS OUT OF AFRICA!’ Racists in Europe will often mask their hatred as patriotism, telling Black and Brown people to ‘leave’ and ‘go back’ to their ‘own countries.’ The level of ignorance is galling. It was Europeans that came and pillaged our ancestral lands. It’s our wealth they built their more ‘advanced’ societies on - something that continues to this day through neo-colonial exploitation. Adding to the irony is the fact that Europe controls two African territories on the Northern Coast: Ceuta and Melilla. This control, which dates back to Spanish colonisation, symbolises the ongoing neo-colonial presence of Europe in Africa. It highlights the contradictory nature of European immigration laws and policies: on the one hand, European countries fortify their borders against African migrants, while on the other, they maintain sovereign territories on African soil, revealing a shameless double standard. At the same time, neo-colonial policies towards African nations continue to create terrible living standards that force Africans to look for livelihoods outside of Africa, while her plundered resources feed the Global North. In this video, a brother expresses sentiments shared by many Africans living in Europe and in the diaspora: until Europe (and the rest of the Western world) leave Africa and provide restitution, Africans will not leave Europe. Africans are rightfully entitled to be in Europe and enjoy the fruits of their blood, sweat and tears. The controversy is global warming. Now, I'm a physicist, but I'm not the right kind of physicist. In regard to global warming, I'm just a layman. And the rational thing for a layman to do is to take seriously the prevailing scientific theory. And according to that theory, it's already too late to avoid a disaster, because if it's true that our best option at the moment is to prevent CO2 emissions with something like the Kyoto Protocol, with its constraints on economic activity and its enormous cost of hundreds of billions of dollars or whatever it is, then that is already a disaster by any reasonable measure. And the actions that are advocated are not even purported to solve the problem, merely to postpone it by a little. So it's already too late to avoid it, and it probably has been too late to avoid it ever since before anyone realized the danger. It was probably already too late in the 1970s when the best available scientific theory was telling us that industrial emissions were about to precipitate a new ice age in which billions would die. Now, the lesson of that seems clear to me, and I don't know why it isn't informing public debate. It is that we can't always know. When we know of an impending disaster and how to solve it at a cost less than the cost of the disaster itself, then there's not going to be much argument, really. But no precautions and no precautionary principle can avoid problems that we do not yet foresee. Hence, we need a stance of problem fixing, not just problem avoidance. It's true that an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure, but that's only if we know what to prevent. If you've been punched on the nose, then the science of medicine does not consist of teaching you how to avoid punches. If medical science stopped seeking cures and concentrated on prevention only, then it would achieve very little of either. The world is buzzing at the moment with plans to force reductions in gas emissions at all costs. It ought to be buzzing with plans to reduce the temperature and with plans to live at the higher temperature, and not at all costs, but efficiently and cheaply. Some such plans exist, things like swarms of mirrors in space to deflect the sunlight away and encouraging aquatic organisms to eat more carbon dioxide. At the moment, these things are fringe research. They're not central to the human effort to face this problem or problems in general. And with problems that we are not aware of yet, the ability to put right, not the sheer good luck of avoiding indefinitely, is our only hope, not just of solving problems, but of survival. So, take two stone tablets and carve on them, on one of them, carve, problems are soluble. And on the other one, carve, problems are inevitable. David Deutsch
