IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode died by suicide after being caught using a phone during an exam, Uploading on ChatGPT and copying answers. The institute says he was counselled and assured that his academic career would not be affected. His family has alleged caste discrimination, invoked the SC/ST Act and are demanding compensation under the act along with crime branch investigation; the allegations are under investigation. But IIT Bombay has also seen other student suicides this year, including Naman Agarwal. Their deaths did not trigger the same caste-discrimination narrative. Just because they were General Category (GC) students? If caste is not established as the cause in those cases, why should it be presumed here before the investigation is complete? Does the identity of a student determine how society chooses to remember and discuss a tragedy? A highly qualified and respected professor has now said he is leaving his job. Sorry if I did not answer many of you. I’ve never been a fan of the online eulogy. The immediate fallout is always about loved ones. And we should leave those closest be. And then I realised of course I was just incredibly upset, and a large digital outpouring is inevitable and testament to his character. My devastation came from having to watch it all unfold. From spending years trying to help and actually getting him close to a point where he almost had a normal life again - then being powerless to stop him doing things he should not have. Powerless in every sense as it also meant it sometimes not being my place to say anything. In the end watching some of the evil shits around enable the worst of it was too much for me, I had to step back it was too painful to watch. I told my mate who was filling in for me looking after him “ah I just need some space from it all, I’ll be back with him after Christmas” and then suddenly there was no Christmas. And it turned out no one was to blame, and I immediately looked to blame myself most of all, fearing the worst. But it was a simple accident in the end. A bolt out of the blue. So if you are ever estranged or overwhelmed by friends and family and think it will all be OK one day - DON’T put it off. Reach out now. Grab that person and hold them tight. There may not be a tomorrow. You might not be around to see them off. There may not be the grand luxury of time available you thought there was. He died in the arms of his beloved son, and that is a measure of comfort, if a passing can ever have any. He was my mentor, my friend and my glad burden. And there was nothing I would not do for him.

Young Nigerians are on fire! Leave everything & listen to our Gen Z speak. I’m so proud of them! Why should anyone pay over ₦600K for a substandard education in a public university? NELFUND is a Ponzi Scheme. The APC almost got away with it. They removed the subsidy in Education, & ‘public’ school fees skyrocketed! To make matters worse, you told them to borrow from you before they could go to school. How much did you pay to attend a public school? Which school did you attend? Their struggling parents can barely afford food & rent. Where do you expect them to fetch the 600K from? From the poverty you created? We have to speak for these young minds. We should never make the mistake of abandoning them. Education is a RIGHT, not a privilege! Over ₦600K in a “public” university without functional laboratories, electricity, R&D, & a conducive environment for higher learning, is no education, but punishment! You are denying our children their right to a guaranteed future. Education was under attack in eleven years. They want to keep you poor & uneducated. Asiwaju is an octogenarian. He is not part of Nigeria’s future debates. His Generation are already on their way out. We Millennials ‘may’ have failed. But the APC cannot withstand the Generation Zoomers. The youngest among them is 15 years. The oldest just turned 30. They came of age on Sai Buhari’s watch. We must keep their fire alive. They are the ones to carry the torch. They are legatees of the New Nigeria that is POssible. They will protect the right of Nigerians to choose. It started with we want to buy your house. The person has not made up his mind and then you come and build a factory close to his fence wall and direct water into his compound. All in a bit to frustrate and push him out of his property. Where in Lebanon or anywhere in this world will a Ghanaian enter to go and treat foreigners this way in their own house and on their own land. Forget the weak minded Ghanaian workers who aid them. When History Warns Us, We Must Not Ignore It We never expected the Chief Minister of Keralam to take such a position under any circumstances. But on this issue, we need to look back at history. Because the people of Keralam have every right to ask: whose political pressure is behind this decision of the Chief Minister? When we examine the history of Vande Mataram, one thing becomes clear. This is not a political issue that emerged yesterday. During India’s freedom struggle, Vande Mataram became a symbol of national consciousness and the spirit of freedom for millions of Indians. The Muslim League was formed in 1906. During the 1930s, opposition to certain portions of Vande Mataram became increasingly prominent among sections of Muslim political leadership, including the Muslim League. In 1937, the Congress moved towards adopting the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram for official occasions. This remains an important episode in our history. But one thing must be made absolutely clear. This is not an allegation against the Muslim community. Many Muslims participated wholeheartedly in India’s freedom struggle and sang Vande Mataram as part of the national movement. Therefore, today’s debate is not against any religion. It is a debate about political positions concerning nationalism. But history also raises another important question. In 1937, political opposition emerged over the use of Vande Mataram. Subsequently, the politics demanding the partition of India became stronger, and ultimately, in 1947, the country was divided. That is why, when in 2026 a position is being taken in Keralam that Vande Mataram need not be sung, a natural question arises: Where will such political compromises take us? What will the state of Keralam’s national consciousness be ten years from now? If we begin making political compromises over one national symbol today, what will prevent similar compromises on other national symbols tomorrow? That is the question Keralam needs to debate today. We have even witnessed situations where a teacher faced serious consequences merely because a question about Veer Savarkar was included in a quiz competition. When a historical figure, an idea, or a national song becomes subject to political pressure, it should concern every democratic society. That is why the BJP is bringing Muhammad Ali Jinnah into this discussion today. This is not a discussion about one individual. It is not a discussion about one religion. Nor is it a discussion against any community. It is a discussion about the future of nationalism. If we want to ensure that history does not repeat itself, we must learn from history. Those who say today that Vande Mataram need not be sung—who can guarantee that tomorrow they will not question another national symbol? If we continue surrendering our national values to political pressure, what we ultimately stand to lose will not merely be the words of a song—it will be our sense of national unity. Therefore, our message to the Chief Minister of Keralam is very clear: Do not surrender nationalism to political pressure. No one needs anyone’s permission to sing Vande Mataram in Keralam. Every Indian has the right to embrace this national song, which inspired the freedom struggle of our country. Even if you do not sing it, Keralam will sing it. Even if you exclude it from government programmes, the BJP will ensure that Vande Mataram and the National Anthem are sung across Keralam. Because the Bharatiya Janata Party will stand at the forefront to protect the national consciousness of this land. As long as Narendra Modi leads this country, we will not allow politics opposed to India’s unity and integrity to take root on this soil. There will be no compromise on nationalism in Keralam. When history warns us, we must not ignore it. We must learn from history. We must not allow history to repeat itself. What does it feel like to realize that, in your little boy’s eyes, you are one of the most important people in the entire world? There's something special about having a young son who looks up to you as a dad. At that age, Dad can seem almost larger than life. He is the guy who can fix things, reach the high shelf, carry the heavy stuff, answer the impossible questions, and somehow make an ordinary afternoon feel like an adventure. And half the time, he probably has no idea just how closely his son is watching him. A little boy does not need his dad to be perfect. He just wants to be around him. He wants to follow him around the house, help with whatever he is doing, wear his old hat, imitate the way he talks, and eventually say, “Dad, can I come with you?” The little moments can seem insignificant when they happen, are sometimes the moments that fathers remember years later. There is also something humbling about knowing that your son is learning what it means to be a man partly by watching you. How you treat your wife, how you handle frustration, how you keep your word, how you treat strangers, how you respond when things go wrong. He may not understand all of it yet, but he is taking it in. And maybe that is one of the greatest joys of being a father. You get to watch a little boy who thinks you can do anything slowly grow into a young man who understands that you are human after all, while still carrying some of the lessons and memories you gave him along the way. One day, he may not need you to carry him anymore, but he will always remember the years when being carried by Dad made him feel like everything was going to be alright. So if your little boy looks up to you today, have you ever thought about just how much that simple admiration might mean to him?

I have not seen enough about the decision from Mike Vrabel and Tim Kelly to go for 2 down by 8 last night. Here’s why I loved it: 1) NFL teams this season have been successful on 55% of two-point conversion attempts. The odds were in the Titans’ favor. 2) Will Levis was dealing in the 2nd half. 3) Titans still had all three timeouts and the two-minute warning. 4) Miami struggled to move the ball on offense all night. Their three scoring drives went for 12, 7, and 59 yards. 5) If successful on the two-point conversion, a stop on defense and a TD wins the game. If unsuccessful, you can still send it to OT. 6) Titans offense marched down the field, scored the TD to make it a one possession game and essentially told Miami, “we are going for two because we know you cannot stop us right now.” The odds are in your favor. It’s a good mathematical decision. You want to psych out an opposing offense? Give them the ball knowing they need to run the clock out, or you are going to have a chance to WIN the game, not send it to overtime. They saw what your offense just did to their defense. They saw your QB on the sideline screaming and hyping everyone up. Cutting the lead to six put WAY more pressure on the Dolphins offense. You want to hype up your defense? Put them back on the field knowing your offense just did their job. Put them back on the field knowing a stop and a TD wins it. At that point, they aren’t in the mindset of “we need a stop to have a chance to go to OT.” They are thinking, “let’s go out here, get a stop, and give our offense a chance to WIN.” There’s a fundamental difference in playing to WIN and playing NOT to LOSE. This was a decision by a coaching staff that was playing to WIN. Brilliant game by Vrabel and Kelly. Brilliant execution late in the game by the offense and the defense. Completely out-coached one of the best offensive minds in the game. #Titans

Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Concrete and blocks have microscopic pores that pull water from the earth through a process we call capillary action. This thick black substance is the shield that stops that water from climbing up into the house. It is not about making the wall look good because this part will be buried under the dirt forever. It is about creating a skin that water cannot breathe through. When do you need to do this? The need for this arises because the soil is a very aggressive environment. Water is not your only enemy.. The ground also contains salts and sulfates that want to eat away at the cement. If this moisture finds its way to the steel bars inside the columns, those bars will start to rust. And when steel rusts, it expands, and that expansion is what cracks the concrete from the inside out. This coating is the only thing standing between your foundation and that kind of slow destruction. Thats is why if you see wet patches at the bottom of your walls inside your house, it usually means someone skipped this step or did it poorly during construction. You can apply this anytime you are building parts of a structure that will stay in contact with the ground. Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Universities and High Schools have not moved rapidly enough to guide students to have skills for the next decade. THEY HAVE FAILED. It is a massive crisis that can be averted by understanding what AI and Robotics will bring about. Solutions are knowing how to use these tools and new industries that will rise. But this situation is also on ALL OF US. No “job” is safe from founder to entry level in most industries. You and I, by what we do, will be “replaced” ultimately. What to do? AI and Robotics are tools, the next decade is owned by those who know how to use them expertly, but this is also temporary. We have to understand that what we do for “work” will change giving ultimately a greater value to those that are: Creative Flexible Always learning Willing to be wrong Love being human Love being alive Know history Covet wisdom Knowing all tech has downsides Building strong family and friends Realize many institutions have failed The first four are required for you to be able to live through this period with your sanity intact. The rest will allow you to thrive. There are no true careers at this point anymore. There are advocation and vocations which will either earn you money or give life meaning. We will learn that we are not “what we do”, just like we knew for 99% of human existence. We don't agree with the comparison that #MunawarFaruqui and #ElvishYadav game was like #IndiaVsPakistan. Last week we introduced Kenji to the button that initiates a video call to an emergency contact. Because he already knows to push buttons, he only needed to learn that it was a paw push not a nose push, and the cue "FaceTime". Today he had his second training session and we moved the button into the living room where it will be used, and he immediately went and pushed it when cued. Then we started to add distance. We did a few runs from within the living room, then a few from the kitchen, and finally a few from the back porch. He did it every single time. Young dogs learn very quickly. We kept the session short and just did a few repetitions at the furthest distance. It's tempting to go further away or into a different room, but it's better to leave that for the next session. Overtraining can take the fun out of it for the dog. Yes, they need to get lots of repetitions in for a behavior to become precise and reliable, but we want to keep it enjoyable and not increase difficulty too quickly. If he's already done several repetitions from a distance and then we ask him to do it from a room further away, then we run the risk of him losing interest in the activity and becoming more interested in some of the distractions he passes along the way. Like his bone and a toy box. When training a new skill, the dog needs lots of wins. It's far better for us to end the session where we did, rather than move to the bedroom and have him decide to stop and check out his bone on his way to the button. In a day or so we will do another session with him doing it once from the living room, a couple of fast repetitions from the back porch with exciting rewards, and then increase the difficulty while he's highly motivated. The session after that we will probably hook it up and introduce the sounds that it makes. He's doing awesome at this. It's not surprising. We know that there's more in his giant noggin than just marshmallows. "Debate me / change my mind" culture started on college campuses about 10 years ago bc a lot of young men were being driven crazy bc they didn't feel like they were being heard or that they could speak, they were quite literally being yelled at, cancelled, shoo'ed away for speaking against "woke" (which is why this became such a huge catch all phrase) the "debate me" guys were/are hugely important to many young men in this country because they can have dialogue without violence, they also observed that the lockstep censorship (which don't even start, was a thing) also led them to form entire orgs to protect their ability to do so. you probably think this will just die down anon, but it won't, it's a continuation of escalation that already started, but you were too busy collecting LABUBUs and calling everyone bigots to notice it. Friends from Europe are texting and calling me about the horrendous situation in Amsterdam. In the night of November 7 in Amsterdam there were widespread and terrible raids on Jewish people. After the soccer game Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv, large groups of radical moslims violently attacked Jews, injured them, ran over them with cars… 💔 How is this possible? Why did it take the police so long to get there ? Even on European soil we fail to protect human dignity. Is this what we have become ? It's just terrible! Revolting! Imagine you are Jewish. And you know this: as soon as you walk out of your house to go running, go grocery shopping, go to school or to the synagogue, this can happen to you. How would you feel? I spoke about this situation of terrible discriminations this week in parliament. Worrying about antisemitism is not an exaggeration. Fighting it is our responsibility. I spoke about this situation of terrible discriminations this week in parliament. Worrying about antisemitism is not an exaggeration. Fighting it is our responsibility. The Dutch local government has failed. My thoughts are with the victims. I am furious with the Dutch local government. This is what we have become. Because we have forgotten that this violence is still possible if we are not honest, vigilant and decisive. If people who live in Europe are capable of this horrible attacks, it says a lot about how europe failed to impose its values even on its own soil. And there are still people who will think speaking of hatred against jewish people is an exaggeration. It is not. This is the week of the Kristallnacht commemorations. October 7 was until now the Kristallnacht of our time. November 7 must be the last one. Assita Kanko

An email sent to An Taoiseach Simon Harris TD this morning. I’ll keep you all posted if I hear back ❤️ Hi Simon, I am writing to you as an incredibly concerned parent of an 8.5 year old boy, Harvey. Harvey has Spina bifida and scoliosis which in itself is challenging, but when those conditions are coupled with a lack of access to therapy, a hospital that is potentially misappropriating funds, and incredibly long wait lists for urgent and life changing surgeries, then it becomes impossible to adequately care for your child. Harvey had an Xray in January 2024 that showed his scoliosis curve is at 110°, if you have read in to scoliosis then I am sure you are aware how this is at a point where it is detrimental to his health and quality of life. Harvey was under Connor Green and was listed for urgent surgery in February 2022 after repeated pneumonia infections, 30 months later he is still only on the surgical list under Connor Green as he does not have a surgeon willing to operate. The task force you hold in such high regard has not made contact with my family, nor is there any details online of how to contact them to enquire as to when your child will finally be treated. You continually tell families like ours that you care, and you have been promising to fix this since 2017. 2017 was the year we were told that Harvey’s ribs were crushing his lungs and controlling his scoliosis was life and death. Here we are in 2024 and nothing has changed except we now have a surgeon under investigation, longer wait lists, more children waiting, a still not complete hospital, and funds not being spent as intended and no answers yet as to where the money *we* fought for went. You say you care but your actions have left us feeling anything but. We as a family also have a child facing open heart surgery next month and this is just more stress and concern that we do not need. Another summer has just passed and Harvey has spent the majority in his room, often needing to go back in to bed because he is in so much pain. Is that the life you think the children of Ireland deserve? Would you accept that if it was your own child? Can you imagine being told your child has a potentially life threatening condition but that it will be years before it would be treated? We need actual action, not more empty promises. You need to engage with all advocacy groups, not just those that are currently working with the task force. There are very valid reasons why the other groups have chosen to not engage and they need to be heard. We need contact details and open dialogue with the task force so that we can actually feel its existence. We need answers as to where the funding for scoliosis and spina bifida services went. I doubt it's the same video that we both watched. Let's actually micro-analyse this since you wanna. Frame 1: 1) That girl was taking forward steps towards her camera when he reached out and nudged her. "Excuse me" would have been enough. Why did he have to nudge her? Also, watch his step count and the angle of his body to his hand, and you'd realise that he had enough space to pass in that very moment. 2) She said, "Can you imagine." I didn't hear the part of "who does he think he is"; but even if she did say that, since when did "who does he think he is" become a crime deserving of harassment? 3) Remember, by this man's own very account, he stated that he grabbed her hand when she refused to hand over her phone. If you're speaking of assault, then that's where the said assault started. He had absolutely no right to attempt to take her phone, NO MATTER WHAT. There are several legitimate avenues to address an errant behaviour from a student. He chose to go that route because he believed that as far as the school environment is concerned, he is the Lord of the Manor. 4) Watching the video in frame 2, you can clearly see the man dragging her by her cloth; and considering how low-cut her dress is, you can clearly see that her entire breast was completely exposed the way he held her. This video also clearly shows that she only held him back after he refused to let go of her. 5) Lastly, I put EVERY blame on this man because he had very many chances to de-escalate this situation as the elder there. While he was walking past that girl, for a split second, he looked into the camera. He was very aware that he was caught on video. He had no problems with it until he overheard the girl's snide comment. He could have kept moving. Returning there just because a (likely) 19 year old said a few words he didn't like was merely him insulting himself. Then, for those who have continued to vouch for the man being a "gentleman," let me just make this clear: no true gentleman would be found in such a situation. The problem with Nigerians is that because we've become so used to abnormalities, we don't know what is normal anymore. Put that man side by side with a true gentleman & you'll realise he's just a quiet rascal.
