@theESA So what I’m hearing is if I have a minecraft server I have an illegal server!? How is it illegal if THEY provide the files to make the server!?

@theESA "Private servers operate with no oversight from the publisher and do not uphold the same trust and safety standards" aha ok how about idk FUCKING COD OFFICIAL SERVERS ??? That are full of hackers and motherfuckers that are gonna enter on your pc ha ???

@theESA Meanwhile, playing old cod games on official servers is legitimately the most dangerous way to play the game. Classic.

@theESA Remember, you can host your own black ops 3 server on PC because they Treyarch provided the tool for it.

@theESA Everything about this is COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Private servers infringe on intellectual property????? BROTHER If a company chooses to stop providing that INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, then it's invalid and free to use.

@theESA "minecraft_server.x.y.z.jar may come with the game, but it's illegal for you to run it and host a server" -- regulatory body What in the utter brain damage?

@theESA Take-Two spent years fighting GTA V community servers/platforms. Then in the end, they bought FiveM (biggest operator there) instead - entire lesson: community servers are not the black market, they are the reason people still own your game a decade later 🙂

@theESA These morons obviously never lived through the 90s and 2000s in gaming. In the Gamespy and Kali_net days, it was all about connecting with other players and talking shit now and then. Their insinuation of IP theft is ridiculous. I think most people know game assets belong to them

@theESA I mean, I just really hope that this legitimacy boost actually helps. Because thus far my impression is that legislators are either corrupt, stupid or both and lobbyists just have to keep lying to achieve their goals. Really losing my faith in our democratic processes.

@theESA @theESA you're literally ruining the fun for all players. you're doing no good + safety? how so?

@theESA "Create an unsafe environment for players" Bruh, the official Call of Duty servers are literally just malware lmfao. They have no protection and hackers can easily have direct access to your computer just by being connected to the server lmao.

@theESA "The industry's commitment to foster fun gameplay for all players." The fun gameplay:

@theESA There is another mission for you lot. Stop Killing Physical Media!

@theESA Private servers infringe on intellectual property? Phahaha

@theESA As a Californian, is the a number I can call to let the powers at be (like a governors office) know my "disappointment and displeasure" of this view?

@theESA So what you're telling me is that dedicated servers, which were the FPS standard for almost 20 years, were not legal that entire time? So why was no one complaining about them during that entire period?

@theESA Are they stupid?

@theESA The fact they just proved why this is needed is hilarious. ESA are morons lmao

@theESA That statement from her saying they're "illegal" , it's insane sounds like a corporation trying to protect their I.P. That being said what about the creator of the games the people who pitched these ideas to form these games and communities , I wanna hear from them.

@theESA Private servers infringe on the IP rights of a game even though they literally give you a license to run them

@theESA People like this should be ridiculed out of their position. How stupid do you have to be to talk about something with ZERO knowledge of what you are talking about and try and claim authority of the matter. Minecraft literally gives you the files to run the servers.

@theESA Wow! Guys remember the days when games were for playing? I miss that

@theESA They took notes from the best

@theESA So the two player server I run locally for me and a friend to play Minecraft is illegal despite using the provided server software from Microsoft/Mojang?

@theESA These people claiming playing private servers (like Minecraft) is fucking retarded Maybe do real shit like.. I don’t know? Remove the pedophiles from games? Seems more important to me

@theESA So then microsoft is infringing on their own rights by providing the download for the server software?

@theESA @theESA Hey about you do some research before spouting some BULLSHIT on this platform saying that Minecraft and COD community servers are illegal and comparing it to the black market. Some people have to actually pay to open a fuckin server for the community.

@theESA don’t know if it’s still going on but for a while I swear you couldn’t play certain Call of duty games on PC without your entire system being at risk. if a private server for just friends is illegal, and letting hackers literally destroy public ones then wtf are we supposed to do

@theESA This is RETARDED!! Too many laws are easily being passed to protect the seller but very little to no care for the consumer (gamers). The scale has been tipped over and it is now an unfair economy. What about protecting us for a change rather then label us as criminals.

@theESA I'm a black market entrepreneur? Damn I'm adding that to my CV

@theESA FYI

@theESA Right, this is true, but it also could lead to some incredibly safe spaces that corporations never could provide, for example: @Autcraft, a safe space for autistic people and their families to play Minecraft.

@theESA Isn't minecraft literally a "play the way YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS want to play" kind of game?

@theESA So hosting your own server is illegal? Period? Disgusting to even try to mention something like that

@metalsonic5002 @theESA These people are crazy.
