#WATCH | Verona, Italy: On FCRA Bill, Analyst and Advisor, India-Italy relations, Carlo Lombardi says, "... Let's not forget that the first FCRA was passed by the Indian Parliament in 1976. It was done by Indira Gandhi. It was then overhauled in 2010 by Manmohan Singh's government, and it was actually harsher in the day. We also have to consider that the technology that is spreading all around the world is making this kind of influence extremely easy. Financial openness also allows for the transfer of funds through many channels that didn't exist in the past. Historically, there's really nothing new. My basic point is that NGOs are great; they do a lot of good work for humanity, but they are also an instrument of foreign policy. This is not a secret. In 1983, the National Endowment for Democracy was created in the United States and became the mother of all NGOs. And one of its co-founders, Allen Weinstein, actually went on record in the Washington Post in 1991 saying, "Much of what the NED, National Endowment for Democracy, does today, the CIA did covertly 25 years earlier." So, NGOs are also an instrument of foreign policy. And it's only right that a government knows who's funding what and for what reasons, and assures that the money which is coming in from foreign NGOs is actually used for the purposes which are stated and not misused. For example, money coming in for educational purposes, and then the NGO uses it for protests against the government, driving a political agenda under the umbrella of charitable, non-profit goodwill organisations..."

Dear ED NIA India गृहमंत्री कार्यालय, HMO India I am writing to bring to your urgent attention about serious financial irregularities, suspected benami dealings, and systematic FCRA violations involving Sodadasi Praveen Chakravarty and his network of linked NGOs and firms in Andhra Pradesh. The following FCRA-registered associations are under his control: Sylom Blind Centre (Darpan ID: AP/2017/0157272 – FCRA No. 010170248) Action in Distress (Darpan ID: TS/2021/0279097 – FCRA No. 010230131) Janavikas (Darpan ID: AP/2020/0256040 – FCRA No. 010340029) Janavikas Samastha (Darpan ID: AP/2018/0219228 – FCRA No. 010120093) Key Allegations Religious Conversions & Anti-Hindu Remarks (2021): During a controversy in Kakinada, Praveen faced allegations of conducting conversions. A viral video showed him boasting about destroying Hindu temples.Following this, CID and other agencies placed Sylom NGO under surveillance. Purchase & Misuse of NGOs: To escape scrutiny, Praveen purchased multiple pre-approved FCRA NGOs and replaced their trustees with his own benami individuals. Example: Action in Distress (purchased in 2021) had its original trustees are replaced by his Benamis, who are used for diversion of funds. Foreign Funding Misuse: Since then, he has systematically diverted foreign donations through these NGOs, fabricating social welfare projects while using the funds for religious conversions and personal luxury. Recent posts on social media confirm that foreign donors have been visiting India under the direct hosting of Praveen Chakravarty, which clearly indicates ongoing foreign funding activity and possible misuse under FCRA provisions. (Link attached) Role of Family Members: While Praveen runs KTC school, His sister Sowmya Sumalatha runs New Mother Teresa School.Tribal children are presented as “orphans” to foreign donors for sponsorship funds, while simultaneously collecting fees from parents — creating unaccounted black money. (Link attached) Pattern Similar to Previous Cases: This modus operandi closely resembles the 2020 case where Gospel for Tribals Social Service, after FCRA violations, rebranded itself as Grace Service Society. The pattern is strikingly similar to the ongoing issues you have already flagged regarding Rural Development Trust, Rayalaseema Development Trust, Accion Fraternal Trust, and Woman’s Development Trust, where suspected benami dealings, systematic FCRA violations, and financial irregularities were highlighted, demanding an ED probe. Praveen Chakravarty’s case appears to be another large-scale, organized misuse of FCRA in Andhra Pradesh. Why This Matters Large-scale money laundering and black money generation. Exploitation of tribal children under the guise of education and welfare. Religious conversions disguised as social work. Systematic misuse of FCRA approvals by acquiring multiple NGOs. Request Legal Rights Protection Forum to: Highlight this matter for public awareness. Urge the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and MHA (FCRA Division) to launch a probe into Praveen Chakravarty and the above-mentioned NGOs. Connect this with similar precedents (e.g., Gospel for Tribals Social Service case) to show the ongoing pattern of FCRA misuse in Andhra Pradesh. We believe your intervention will help expose these violations and safeguard both national security and the rights of vulnerable Hindu communities. Sincerely, Anonymous Well-wisher

It's All Much Worse Than I Thought The corporate media are all-in on government censorship Over the last three years, we have come to learn of the role that our own government officials have played in demanding censorship by social media platforms. Some of this censorship was overt, particularly as it related to COVID. However, some of it was also done in secrecy, as we discovered in the Twitter Files. Many of us thought that once we had uncovered the censorship, governments would be sufficiently embarrassed to stop doing it. And to some extent, that has been the case. But now, governments around the world are stepping up their efforts to demand more censorship. Last week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation quietly announced it had resumed its outreach to social media companies. Scotland’s Police could even investigate comedians under a new hate speech law if someone complains about a joke. Major media outlets are currently working with government-funded censorship activists at the University of Washington and Stanford Internet Observatory to demand greater censorship in the name of “saving Democracy.” Without a doubt, those of us who have uncovered censorship have had an impact. On “60 Minutes” last Sunday, the government-funded advocates of censorship at the University of Washington said they have stopped demanding censorship of social media platforms. Simply drawing awareness to who is demanding censorship and who is funding them has weakened their power. But governments, government-funded NGOs, and the news media have been relentless in their demands for a crackdown on speech they deem hateful and false. At the Supreme Court last week, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson expressed unironic concern that the First Amendment restricts the government’s ability to censor. And everyone from the New Yorker to the New York Times to NBC is suggesting that the only people who are worried about government censorship are Trump supporters, which is obviously false. The 60 Minutes segment was particularly shocking. Lesly Stahl never mentioned the mass censorship of accurate information about COVID’S origins, COVID vaccines, and lockdowns. She falsely suggested that shining a light on the censorship activists was tantamount to persecution. And she suggested that if the government didn’t do more to censor misinformation, Trump supporters would overthrow the government, which is a form of disinformation aimed at scaring people into giving up our first and most fundamental freedom. There are many reasons why they are doing this....
