The REINS Act, or Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act, is a proposed law that would require congressional approval for major federal regulations that have an economic impact of $100 million or more before they can take effect. It aims to increase legislative oversight of federal agency rulemaking and restore the balance of power between Congress and the executive branch.
