Did he say, immigrants are criminals? No He said the system is being abused. By who? He didn't say. Are the accommodation owners cleaning up? Yes Are there many employers taking on cash paying black economy immigrants? Yes Is that abuse? Yes. Immigrants welcome.

Over here in Iraq we have far more open discussions about refugees, immigration, returnees than I ever see back home in Ireland. None of those groups are the problem. Obviously. The problem is the perception of them and complete incompetence by successive Irish governments.

In fairness to Garron he explained in a second video that he wasn't hating on immigrants and that as usual words were taking out of context. This witch hunt against the lad is a bit unfair now.

Actually it doesn't at all. Crows (black) V Seagulls (white) very convenient btw. I agree that one single event doesn't ever create 'my' 'reality' (or yours) which is based on context & nuance, BUT... There are 1000s of tents in our cities, this is not normal or acceptable.

There is no "misconception" in this story: just differing opinions. The unbearably smug person who made that video seems to believe that the only possible informed, good-faith view on immigration is the one he happens to hold. Breathtakingly arrogant & condescending.

Ireland needs an immigration conversation and an immigration policy. I stand with Garron. Fuck this cancel culture for anyone who offends the sensibilities of the mainstream.
