Remember the lady who refused to shake Meghan Markle’s hand when William, Catherine, Harry and Meghan were greeting mourners viewing the floral tributes for Queen Elizabeth? I like people like her. She stood by her principles and wasn’t afraid to act according to her values. She wasn’t obligated to shake Meghan’s hand. After everything that happened, from the Oprah interview while Prince Philip was seriously ill to Meghan mocking the late Queen’s curtsy, to years of accusations against the Royal Family, the public displays of grief and concern rang hollow. Spare me the crocodile tears. To me, that lady showed integrity, strong values and the courage to stand by her convictions. Not all heroes wear capes. 🫡

My father, a career diplomat and a product of Ahmadu Bello University where he participated in extracurricular activities such as basketball always had time for the family and was my basketball coach since I was a toddler. My dearest Bappa and Mommy, through your quiet sacrifices, you taught me that true leadership is rooted in integrity and that the greatest legacy one can leave is the service of others.
