After spending the winter indoors, these cows finally get to run out into the pasture again. O Happy Cows! O Happy Cows! Finally liberated and out in the sun. Never seen cows frolicking happily in the green meadow. They weren't cows inside, they were waiting to be, but they forgot. Now they see the sky (and grass) and they remember what they are. - River Tam To clarify. In Denmark, the winter are typically rain, wind & snow. So a lot of cows would get sick being out in that changing weather. The pasture or field would be ruined if animals of these sizes (6-700 kilo) were to walk around around there, simply put, the field would be turned into a muddy swamp and would be ruined for the coming spring/summer. Plus, grass stops growing at 5 degrees, so there simply aren’t any nutrients in the grass.

Farmers in Denmark are mandated to feed the additive Bovaer to their cows, or face steep fines and/or prison. Bovaer is a food additive designed to reduce methane production in cows. The farmer said: "We started in the beginning of October with a low doses, and we raised it up till the full doses around the 20th of October, a little bit before. On the 30th of October, we really got problems. 🚨We have four groups of cows in our stable. We have one group with 36 sick cows, and in the end of the day, it started also in two other groups, and at that point, we really thought it's Bovaer. We heard already earlier some problems about other farmers, and the signals were really the same. 🚨On Friday morning, we had like 70 cows on our health list, and on Saturday morning, it was almost 90. This was 5 years ago. Looking back, it was actually quite a good system. I milked 60 cows 365 days on 3 blocks of leased land. The next one will stay in one spot but be movable if needed. Will be much simpler and half the price.

I think we should make it a discussion where we are participating, we are showing the country that on this fundamental issue, there is agreement, and the best minds are going to be put into place to solve this issue. I think it would be good if we have a detailed discussion and then the Prime Minister puts in place a plan for each city methodical systematic plan on how, within the next five or ten years, maybe we cannot resolve the problem, but how we are going to address the problem and make life for our people easier."
