Nigeria is constructing the 750km, six-lane Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway at a cost of $11 billion (N15 trillion). It will connect Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states. The first phase which stretches 47.47km has been completed.

The 750-kilometer Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway is progressing: - Section 1: 47.47 km (completed with a 25m rail corridor). - Section 2: 55 km (60% complete, reaching the Lagos–Ogun border). - Sections 3 & 3B: 75 km (30% complete across Akwa Ibom and Cross River). - Sections 4 & 4B: 164 km (20% complete across Ogun and Ondo). - Akwa Ibom Mega Section: 360 km (newly awarded, underway). - Over 70% of the corridor is currently procured, with remaining segments through Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers pending procurement.

BREAKING: Minister of Works David Umahi responds to former Governor Donald Duke over his statement that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway won't go beyond Epe Umahi said: Yesterday, we were on the road to Ondo State to inspect the Ogun-Ondo section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. 28km is ongoing in the Ogun section, while 52km is ongoing in the Ondo section. Let me assure all the critics who said the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will not pass Epe; we have already passed there. - Section 1 (Ahmadu Bello Way - Lekki Deep Seaport), which is 47.47 km, has been completed. - Section 2 (Lekki Area-Lagos-Ogun border), which is 55km, is ongoing. - Sections 3A and 3B, which are 75km, are ongoing in Calabar and Akwa Ibom States, and we've achieved over 30%. - Section 4A and 4B, which constitutes an 82km stretch, passing through Ogun and Ondo states, are ongoing.
