Construction work on our 30,000-seater Olympic standard stadium is ongoing. Despite being away for other government engagements, my team is keeping me abreast on the progress of work.

Constructing a stadium in a state where 90% of citizens lack basic amenities is not responsible governance.

Dear Governor, A Bayelsa State Medical City (BSMC) in that location would have been far more beneficial to the state. Four 7-storey hospital buildings would provide immediate, direct benefits to all residents and would also enhance the beauty of the city.A win-win for everyone🤣

30,000 seater is not Olympic standard. Don't you watch the Olympics or foreign sports?

Bayelsa doesnt need a 30,000 seater Olympic size stadium. Bayelsa needs good roads, Education, electricity, health care and sustainable economic projects for bayelsans.

If only the state could make good use of its funds, i believe it can compete with the likes of Florida, your shorelines alone is worth billions if your state goes into commercial fisheries with trawlers, you can literally feed the whole nation from fishing alone.

I hope you are not going to be using plywood as side board. All those nonsense must stop. We are in 2025 not 1903

Hmmmm, I hope you complete it before your tenure elapsed hence it becomes a white elephant project because in Nigeria there's barely a continuation in governance.

This will not even rank 100 in the list of the top 100 things your people NEED right now. The whole state is a slum compared to Rivers. So many communities that need to be connected by roads.

We are actually expecting a lot from Bayelsa state when you have a small population of around 2.5million to 3million, but you get so much FAAC, we need more sir, what is stopping Bayelsa to be like at least Abuja in terms of infrastructure. Just make sure you help us put someone with great vision after you. Someone that can create big economic opportunities that will create a lot of SmEs that will employ graduates. Economic master plan without the oil, not just any politician

A state sitting on gas reserve will build stadium and yet generate no power to power up and sustain it. Wastage as usual

For a state that lacks electricity, there are communities without proper electricity, you’re building a stadium, what for ? Rainy seasons, people’s farms are flooded at Igbogehene, you can’t do anything for them and you think stadium is the answer ?

The citizens of Bayelsa will focus on @officialABAT instead of their Governor who collects FAAC in billions monthly and have nothing to show for it. All the Governors are guilty with the exception of a few. A stadium is not bad but I’m not sure that’s the immediate need of the poor people of the state.

Why 30,000... Look far into the future!! At least a 50k would be better.. Support can come from corporate bodies or those companies that take your natural resources. IMAGINE your state hosting a world cup group.

Make sure it’s finer and better than the one in uyo. Also make sure you add roof/covering to shield spectators from sun and rain!

As a mostly riverine state, why not partner with Chinese companies and create industrial fish farming hubs along ur rivers, creating employment and wealth for your people. Why all these projects that do not serve the needs of people?

politicians never ever embark on people oriented or life changing projects… they look for big projects that will cost billions, pad it and use english language to cover their incompetence and then name the stadium after himself… a secondary sch student would do better as gov.🤮
