Consumer confidence plunges and "Near Zero Growth" is coming, according to the Conference Board 110-year recession tracker. With 22 straight down months, the index hasn't been this bad since 2008. Before that you have to go back to the stagflationary crisis of the 1970's. The question is do we get both: a 2008 banking crisis, 1970's inflation, or both at the same time.
