EXTREMELY CONCERNING 🚨 Today: Moms Across America just got back their toxic metals testing results for baby formula They tested 20 brands including organic, “All of them, a 100% of the 40 samples tested positive for toxic aluminum and lead. All of them. 80% of the samples had lead levels that were higher than what the EPA allows in drinking water. This is very disturbing. Lead is super toxic and harmful for brain development. At 41,000 parts per billion of aluminum in one of the goat's milk baby formulas, that level was 4,000 to 40,000 times higher than the other heavy metals that were found in the, in baby formulas. And that level, when consumed on a daily basis at a normal rate, the way babies normally do, will exceed what the FDA allows in drinking water, or for consumption for of aluminum for a preemie baby. So these babies are getting toxic levels of aluminum in this goat's milk baby formula. It's called, Cabrida. The highest aluminum levels detected was 200 times higher than what the EPA allows in drinking water. That's in that goat's milk formula. The 57% of the samples tested positive for arsenic, 55% for mercury, and 35% for cadmium. Levels of mercury in 4 of the samples were detected above the amounts allowed by the FDA in drinking water, that's 10%. And levels of cadmium in, both samples of one formula were nearly twice the level allowed in drinking water. So the cadmium can cause cancer. Many protein powders contain potentially concerning amounts of lead, a heavy metal you don’t want to be exposing yourself to daily. More than 65% of brands tested in a recent Consumer Reports analysis exceeded their “concerning” threshold (0.5 µg/day). Very few had undetectable levels in a single serving. Plant-based powders (e.g., pea protein) were the worst offenders: on average they contained 9x the lead of dairy-based proteins and 2x the lead of beef-based proteins. Some have criticized the threshold as conservative, but the bottom line is simple: any chronic daily lead exposure is undesirable. I’m not saying everyone must stop using protein powders. But if a powder is your primary protein source, it’s reasonable to ask whether the convenience is worth the added exposure compared with whole foods. If you do use powders, prefer whey and choose products that are third-party tested (NSF certified or equivalent) to reduce the risk of contamination.

I just spent $32 on a fish and chips lunch at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at the wharf in DC, and it’s not the one you think. I knew about Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s kitchen restaurant at the wharf in Washington DC, but I didn’t realize that they also put in a Gordon Ramsay fish and chips right across the walkway. it is kinda like what would happen if a fast food restaurant changed their oil appropriately. The food comes out fast, the batter is light and fluffy and crispy and not stale, and it tastes good, not great. so as a fast food restaurant, this is a very good one, but I don’t think they think it’s fast food. Because after upgrading my fries and adding an iced tea, the total price I paid for this very small portion of food was $32. so if they’re not fast food, they’re competing with Irish pubs, and that might put the price more in the same range. But now that’s where the portion of food comes in, because at some Irish pubs, they give you like two or three full fish not just too little fish sticks. So, yes, you were paying an up charge for less food, and while the food is not terrible, I would still say it’s probably kind of a tourist trap. I don’t know what do you think? i’ll probably get my fish and chips at an Irish pub next time.
