HOW THE INTERNET TOOK Secretary Marco Rubio OUT OF CONTEXT - making it seem like he said Israel was responsible for America’s involvement in Iran. A viral clip led many people to believe Marco Rubio said yesterday that Israel forced America’s hand in its operation in Iran. However, the added context left out of the clip shows Rubio clarifying minutes later that he was explaining why the operation happened at that specific time and why it was conducted jointly with Israel. He also made clear that action against Iran had already been agreed upon independently of Israel’s actions. As Rubio pointed out today, this context was left out so people could "reach a narrative."
