Just brought this beautiful book from the Notting Hill Carnival shop! Celebrating 60yrs of carnival 🎉 My dad (64), a North Londoner, grew up with carnival and would take my siblings and I every summer holiday. Sunday really did used to be family day back then 😅. Aaron Frasier lived in a Jacksonville Florida home where his parents were always fighting. His mother left one day and never came back when he was three, which ended up with him being in foster care. When Aaron was older, his father gave him the childhood home. He was excavating the backyard and tearing out the swimming pool, he hit a water line where the outdoor shower was. I debated posting this because maybe I’m too bias but seriously I don’t think she reads her books until book club nights. - Ok I’ve watched a few episodes of the book club. Last book club I had the feeling she hadn’t actually read the book we were reviewing. And seemed like she was making up things to say about what she was reading for the first time. I thought well maybe she just forgot these parts. I’ll let it go. Then last night she did a whole segment on a guy and his beliefs but then asks her staff to pull up his Wikipedia page and states she never had seen his picture before and seemed to be reading directly from her book to learn about him. She hadn’t seen his picture? How did you not see his picture when even when your producer searched him a lot of pictures came up. You did an entire segment in your book about him. Who did your research? Because it wasn’t you. Maybe I’m bias but did she even write this book? Candace you seem surprised about things in it. Ok I’m off my rant but it seems odd to me. More to come still listening.

RFK Jr. was previously asked about how it felt to be condemned by his own family. He told a story about how his father gave him a book just two weeks before he died. RFK said he read the book multiple times, trying to figure out what lesson his dad wanted to give him. Here is what he said: "Camus had written this book called The Plague. My father gave it to me and he told me, with this kind of peculiar intensity, 'I want you to read this'." "He said this with this directness that after he died, I ended up reading that book about three times, trying to figure out kind of what the message was that he was trying to give me."
