I got something crazy for today - custom GI from a plugin in #UE5!! This is super rough and unoptimized sketch, but it's already faster than Lumen, though of course it's muuuch less accurate. Here I'm just imitating Large Scale AO using Global SDFs, no sun light bounces yet.

Added directional soft shadow AO to my custom GI solution for UE5. This reads from the baked probe directions and applies a directional soft shadow occlusion similar to that of CS & Deadlock! Requires a Capsule setup for the objects but looks great in game! #UnrealEngine5 #UE5

Sunday morning test of the new @Nvidia 5.4 preview branch of #UnrealEngine with my 100 million+ poly Riva TNT 2 asset. RTXDI enabled for Lighting, Lumen Reflections & Lumen GI , along with full Nanite mesh tracing. ~40-50 fps on a 7900 XTX at 1440p #GameDev #UE5 #Nvidia

**Wave System Update ** We've upgraded the ocean with new wave effects, making the sea feel much more dynamic and alive than before. The new system is also better optimized, reducing performance costs while delivering improved visuals. The downside? It takes a bit more work to make the waves blend naturally with the shoreline... but it's worth it. 😆 #gamedev #indiedev #UE5
