'Continuous assaults on locals ignites massive protest in Donegal' The crowds arrived in huge numbers today, in response to a number of assaults in county Donegal. Swells of up to 2000 people came out to support the victims of a number of assaults that have happened in recent weeks.... Just two weeks ago in the quiet town of Ballybofey, 16th of April at 6.30pm, a young teenage girl was viciously assaulted in an unprovoked attack and left hospitalized, with life changing injuries. Similarly, a young man in Letterkenny was surrounded by a group of men on the 14th of April and was told as they assaulted him, "This is our town now". We spoke to the male victim today who told us he is still "very traumatized by the event" He reiterated what his father said earlier, that they are "extremely proud of the support they received at today's protest". We spoke to many people today who are now questioning the level of policing and protection that is currently being provided. They continued, " are current measures 'even adequate' considering the increase of population in many towns and villages across the county.show more

"There are groups who extort money from these foreign nationals. These boys who are in the video shooting at those two boys had come earlier to extort money, but the shop owner told them that there was a group that came earlier and took the money.
