In a single generation, the UK has gone from having two offshore wind turbines to having just under 3,000. Pritzker: The economic opportunity of building new clean power is enormous. So today, I’ve issued an executive order designed to speed up the development of new clean nuclear power so we can increase our electricity supply and secure our energy future. My goal is to deliver at least two gigawatts of new clean nuclear capacity in our state — enough to power up to two million Illinois homes. For Illinois households and businesses, expanded supply will make electricity less expensive, more reliable, and cleaner — while creating thousands of jobs and maintaining our state’s status as a net energy exporter.

California ended its last coal power contract in 2024 and we're not going back to a fuel that pollutes our skies, threatens public health, and costs more than clean alternatives. Under Governor Gavin Newsom 's administration, we've expanded battery storage, modernized the grid, and accelerated clean energy projects. The results: more reliable energy, cleaner air, good-paying jobs, and a stronger economy. California will continue advancing solutions that move our state forward.

Different face same rubbish. "Homegrown clean energy creates jobs," says the Energy Secretary. She’s correct … In CHINA! Once a wind or solar farm is built, it employs few people. The real jobs are in manufacturing the turbines, panels, batteries, inverters, cabling, concrete etc and processing and mining critical minerals. Which is why CHINA is having a jobs boom (Insert me weeping) China manufactures most of the world's solar panels, leads battery production and dominates the refining of critical minerals and its supply chain. So what she means is WE are subsidising CHINESE jobs! Then *sigh*, electricity is only 20% of Britain's total energy use. The other 80% is mostly made up of transport fuels, heating and industry. Importing more Chinese infrastructure doesn't make us energy secure. It makes China richer while she congratulates herself on creating jobs that mostly aren't here. *sob*
