I conveyed the EU’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people. We greatly value Saudi Arabia’s stabilising role and efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy. It is crucial that the momentum of the US-Iran ceasefire agreement is maintained and that all parties engage in good faith to achieve a sustainable, comprehensive agreement. Iran’s leadership should seize this opportunity to address the concerns of the international community - on nuclear, on ballistic missiles, on freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and on its support to proxies in particular Hezbollah. Diplomacy is the only path towards lasting peace.

This morning, a barrage of 20 missiles was launched at Israel from #Iran, there were four strikes in population centers. One occurred near a school in central Israel, and another at the main hospital in the south. Iran is deliberately targeting Israeli population centers with its missile fire. Hospitals in Israel are among the primary targets of the Ayatollah regime in Iran, in blatant violation of international law. Soroka Medical Center, which was hit, is located in Be'er Sheva — the main city in southern Israel — and serves the Jewish residence of the city as well as hundreds of thousands of Arab Bedouins living in the area. It stands as a symbol of shared life between Jews and Arabs in Israel. According to images emerging from the site, the damage is severe.

There is no ceasefire in Lebanon with I$raeli attacks continuing in the south as it insists the MOU between Iran and the US doesn’t apply to them. A ceasefire that still allows bombs to fall on civilians is not a ceasefire.
