Why don’t you just talk to one of us?

Crowe 🇻🇦's profile picture
Crowe 🇻🇦10 months ago

This is pathetic and sad. There are plenty of Catholics that would gladly talk to you, instead you just keep straw manning what we believe for clicks Try making it less obvious that your grifting on here.

Taco_Talks's profile picture
Taco_Talks10 months ago

@crowe_justinp What’s even more pathetic is that you just claimed that this was a strawman. Which means you either did not watch the video, or you are intentionally intellectually dishonest

Crowe 🇻🇦's profile picture
Crowe 🇻🇦10 months ago

Why won’t you record a video talking to an actual Catholic? Instead you wrote and filmed and skit about what you think we would say. Any Catholic on here would be willing to host a space so you could talk to actual Catholics. Your own ignorance is on you.

@DeaconBehnke This isn’t a strawman at all though. If it is, explain SPECIFICALLY how.

If you can’t ask AI or be bothered to read Catholic catechism nothing I write will convince you so nah I’m good fam merry Christmas

Taco_Talks's profile picture

@DeaconBehnke See? You can’t give specifics. You just falsely accuse. Exact terminology from the catechism was used in this

Dear Taco guy. Before you keep showing us that you know nothing look up Pelagianism. Bc you think we do that and we condemned that long before your false religion appeared on the world.

Daniel Taylor's profile picture

It’s wild how condescending you are while The bible doesn’t support your claims. Keep reading. I recommend Hebrews based on the nonsense you’ve come out with here

Taco_Talks's profile picture
Taco_Talks10 months ago

Like Hebrews 10:10-14?

Daniel Taylor's profile picture
Daniel Taylor10 months ago

And why do you stop there? If you read verse 15-17 it tells us the new covenant which is the body and blood of Christ and it is through that our sins are remembered no more. Read in context

@taco_talks Daniel, I grew up going to Catholic Church, and I quit the day I completed confirmation. During communion, only the priest drinks the wine. If you really believe transubtantiation is required to keep you saved, then why aren't you drinking the wine too? You only get the wafer.

Daniel Taylor's profile picture
Daniel Taylor10 months ago

@taco_talks Not true anymore. The wine is offered to all. A theological whoopsie doesn’t disprove the Church. But I’m sorry that it stumbled you. Where did you go after leaving?

CoffeeGuy's profile picture
CoffeeGuy10 months ago

@taco_talks If the priests actually believed in transubtantiation, that's more than a "theological whoopsie." But I never believed it. I quit church altogether until I heard the gospel on TV at age 29. I go to a Southern Baptist church now. 💯 My Saviour is Jesus Christ, not a church.

Daniel Taylor's profile picture
Daniel Taylor10 months ago

@taco_talks Regardless of transubstantiation, the bible makes it clear that participation in the new covenant is essential

Excellent presentation of #SolaFide error of #Protestantism: "salvation" is seen solely in juridical, positional, transactional terms (get-out-of-hell-free card), but "sanctification" is something totes different. Sad, pathetic legalism (which, tbf, they inherited from #RomanCatholicism). No wonder so many Protestants & Roman Catholics are coming to the #OrthodoxChurch!

Protestantism is a million popes demanding their interpretation be the reality

It is one thing to become a tool of the devil whose goal is to create division, confusion, deceit and rejection of the Holy Spirit - but to sell out for clicks and a cottage industry of anti-Church mocking seems dangerously silly. May God guide you Home in 2026, if not sooner.

We can have a real version of this conversation right now if you want. You could even then make a new version of this video using my exact words. Nobody could claim a straw man then. But to do that, I need to understand your view on this: If someone professes faith in Jesus, but that faith never produces any acts of love, is that person saved?

Everyone believes works are necessary. Even if you grant that James is talking about works as strictly evidence of saving faith, you still need them to show you have a living and saving faith. The contradiction comes in when you say “faith alone.”

Catholic Truth's profile picture
Catholic Truth10 months ago

You confuse yourself with terminology. Let’s summarize. 1) The Catholic Church teaches that we cannot merit the initial grace of forgiveness and justification (i.e., when we are “born again”). 2) The Catholic Church also teaches that after we are “born again”, we can then merit the graces for ourselves and others, in response to the Spirit, necessary for sanctification and the attainment of eternal life. 3) The merits of our good works are ultimately “gifts of the divine goodness”, attributed in the first place to the grace of God and second to us (i.e., our cooperation with grace). You probably agree with number 1 but disagree with 2 and 3. While there are several passages in the Bible that speak of good works, by the believer, as having merit, 1 Cor. 10-14, is a good illustration of how our cooperation with grace (i.e., good works) is rewarded.

@taco_talks I’m truly curious and have a legitimate question. How much money do you get from Elon’s engagement bucks? How much money does a post like this generate? He probably won’t answer this. Does anybody on this thread have an idea?

To everyone responding to @taco_talks you should not. He is trying to farm engagement from Catholics by consistently misrepresenting what Catholics believe. Do not bother trying to correct him, he has no interest. He is deliberately mocking and ignores any response to his comments. There are many Protestants who are will to discuss Scripture and its interpretations, @taco_talks is not one of them.

Yup. Bottom line, Roman Catholics conflate Justification and Sanctification. It’s infused vs imputed righteousness. That’s where you can prove them dishonest when they say they say they aren’t working. They absolutely are.
