LOL My brother made Aliyah (moved to Israel from America at age 19), and he had to jump through a billion hoops to prove to the Israeli government that he was actually Jewish. He had graduated top of his class from a prominent Jewish high school, my parents were board members at a large local orthodox synagogue, etc Yet Israel is so super strict and make you go through ridiculous steps to prove you’re actually Jewish. I could be wrong, but I think they definitely need a copy of your birth certificate and may or not need one of your parents or grandparents. Again, it takes a ton of time, effort, and documentation for an obviously Jewish American to move to Israel and become a citizen. I’ll also add that to convert to Judaism takes a TREMENDOUS amount of time and effort (because the rabbis need to make sure you’re actually serious about converting and what to do it only for the right reasons). I’d be shocked if anyone could complete the whole conversion process in under a year. So, in summation, this notion that you can you just decide to randomly be Jewish one day and just easily become an Israeli citizen is absolute nonsense. Legit absolute nonsense

This is nothing but garbage LIES. You *can’t* just “convert” like she’s describing, as if you can do it insincerely or overnight. Certainly not to where you could have dual Israeli citizenship with a fake, rubber stamp “conversion”. Only those accepting and undergoing orthodox conversion, with an orthodox rabbinate, are eligible for dual citizenship. This process of conversion is *not* guaranteed, requires in many cases years of study and testing, of initial rejection, followed by periods of demonstrating commitment and learning. You cannot achieve it haphazardly or by any means other than full acceptance. And even then, there is no promised timeline for completion like you might think. It Is rigorous and challenging and represents a great accomplishment for both the person converting and the Jewish people. There is no un-doing it. You are not referred to as a “convert” afterwards; you are a Jew. It is a profound, *spiritual* rebirth. And if after all of that, you choose to join your fellow Jews in your spiritual-ancestral homeland, you have that right under the Israel’s Law of Return. Now before you start shrieking and complaining about it, why don’t you gather data on the number of orthodox conversions that occur worldwide each year, and then the even smaller number of those converts from around the world who choose to immigrate to Israel. Palestinians haven't lived in that land for hundreds of years. most of that land was stolen by Jordan in 1948. Then Jordan settled Arabs and other people there so that Jews couldn't move back in.
