Cooking is specifically meant for women to be honest. It has always been a women thing. It doesn’t mean that men should not know how to do it too. It’s just like seeing a woman washing the cars while her husband is at home. We know that washing of cars alongside other things, are meant to be done by men. There are gender specific roles but it is good to teach all kids how to cook. It is a basic survival skill.

You get my point. I am not saying women shouldn’t be the ones cooking for their home but it’s important for parents to teach both genders, there are days the woman will break down and need help too

Do you mind telling us what s gender role is then? Because for all I care, cooking is a woman's role. But it doesn't in anyway mean that men shouldn't know how to cook. For children, it's good you teach all of them to cook because cooking is not only basic, but a survival skill. But for couples, it's the woman's role to cook for her husband and kids. Just the same way it's the husband's role to provide for his family.

Yes it’s the woman’s role to cook for her husband and kids but it’s important the man also knows how to cook. There are days the woman won’t be fit to cook, the man can do that for his family too. So that’s exactly what I meant by it’s not a gender role, both should know how to do it.
