As dry as some areas in the United States are because lack of rainfall can this not be scooped out via helicopter with water baskets and used somewhere other than downriver flooding.

National Sea Rescue Institute (NRSI) crews were dispatched to the Grootdraai Dam in Mpumalanga, South Africa, on Monday (29 December) after the boat suffered motor failure and drifted toward the edge of the spillway as millions of gallons of water thundered over the side of the dam wall.

Enjoy a few tranquil moments from a large beaver dam in Spring 2023. One of the highlights is a wolf standing on the dam watching an eagle swoop down trying to catch a duck...pretty neat! The footage, except the opening sequence, is chronological and shows how melting snow and run-off caused this dam to blow and the pond to drain, despite the beavers’ best efforts. By early summer, beavers had clearly abandoned this pond, most of the water had drained, and the pond was a fertile meadow with lush green grass growing in it. And we would have had more footage to include in this compilation but a few black bears had other plans for our camera...

Chronology of Gujarat floods ! -Madhya Pradesh's Indirasagar Dam released 9.45 lakh cusecs of water into Narmada, days before PM's birthday so that the Narmada Dam reservoir reaches maximum water levels before PM's birthday on September 17. -On the day of PM's birthday, as part of the celebration, all the floodgates of the dam are thrown wide open to release water. -Mindlessly, 18 lakh cusecs of water gets released at one go. -As a result, Bharuch, Vadodara and Narmada districts of Gujarat gets flooded. -As you can see in the video, flood water enters homes and residential societies. -Thousands of people are left helpless, houses destroyed and some forced to take shelter on the roof of the houses as water submerged their homes. -Meanwhile, people from Saurashtra, North Gujarat and Kutch had been demanding water for a month now but it was not being released. It was kept on hold for the PM's birthday. -The water could easily have been released in a phased to these regions few days prior as a red alert was already issued and there was going to be more water in the dam.
