The cop was speeding for no apparent reason but pulled someone else over for doing the exact same thing?

“You can fight it in court” is such a lame excuse because even if I’m 100% innocent, and didn’t even need to hire a lawyer, I’d still get hit with hundreds or thousands of dollars in legal fees. The city or county should have to pay the legal fees for situations like this.

Ticket would 100% be thrown out in court but the cop knows most people wouldn't bother showing up for it and would just pay it instead. Speeding tickets require a tool of measurement to determine speed. "Pacing" is not a real tool, which is what the lambo driver was pointing out

If the cops vehicle is certified for accurate speed, then they can pace and give you a ticket. There is a sticker on the dash that certifies the car passed the test. In Arizona anyways. Not sure of other states.

Corporate policy enforcement officers issuing ticket as if a crime was committed… no crime occurred without a victim. This guy could use Title 18 USC section 242 … color of law and Title 42-1983 to prosecute the policy officer and the department.

If he drove a lambo, he won't go to court. His families lawyers will handle the ticket. It might cost a small amount of money, but the ticket probably gets removed from his record as if nothing happened.

Cops can totally use pacing as a means to issue a ticket. If this guy chooses to challenge the ticket in court, that's fine. He just needs to make sure he can prove that the cop could not have properly gauged his speed using proper techniques. With a good lawyer, he could beat the ticket. Remember, a ticket is not a conviction. It's a summons where you can then choose to either just plead guilty or go to trial over the alleged crime.
