UPDATE: Charlie Kirk The Day After Charlie Kirk was assassinated, a Man in a White Lab Coat was Arrested at UVU, with an officer to his right appearing to carry a Gun • That man has been identified as Russell Kim Kennington, and authorities say he was arrested for sneaking crossing two sets of yellow crime scene tape. • When police ordered Kennington, 38, to identify himself, he allegedly fled but was eventually caught after a short pursuit. • Following his arrest, Kennington identified himself and told police he was “reminiscing and filming the scene.” They found selfies and other photos of inside crime scene. He did not tell John Carpenter beforehand, but Carpenter liked the look for the character, so they kept it. Kurt Russell on the mystery behind the eye patch: "Interviewer: Is it true you came up with the idea for Snake Plissken’s eyepatch? Russell: Yeah. I pitched it to (Escape From New York writer/director) John Carpenter and he immediately said, “Yes. Do it.” I knew then that I’d made the right decision to sign on to the movie. Some directors hem and haw, they’re like, “Hmmm. I don’t know.” But with John, it was immediate. He trusted me. Interviewer: Did you invent a whole backstory? Did Snake lose an eye or something? And today a Mississippi jury rejected his wife's civil suit, stating that they did not feel the officer used "excessive force."
