I remember a lesson during school days wherein it said that in China farmers put rings around cormorants’ necks so that the fish caught by them could be retrieved for personal consumption.

I mean..

An old Chinese fishing trick is to put a metal ring around the Cormorant’s neck (which doesn’t constrict it) and then when the bird gets a big fish like that, it can’t pass I to the stomach and the “fisherman” just pulls the fish out of the bird’s mouth and puts it in his basket.
