I have great respect for Dr. West, as he is an honest and sincere voice for those at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder. That said, activists by their nature are myopic in their views and lack diversity of expertise, so are not good candidates for high political office.

What does it say about our elected leaders if Cornel West, the life long defender of the poor and oppressed, the Author of “Democracy Matters”!!!Feels the need to run for POTUS? Like trump getting elected, it says, elected leaders of our country have FAILED!

I'm glad you and Prof West get a long so well. I just cannot detach my sneaking suspicions of race-hustling long enough to engage in what he says.

He’s got the time to waste and inclination to do it. Otherwise pointless.

@ninaturner Classic cornell: Lots of words, zero substance. Very few people use so many words to say absolutely nothing at all, but a small minority of people are easily impressed by supposed "intellectuals" using big words. He's a buffoon who is not taken seriously by serious people.
