Last night I was on Newzroom Afrika's Africa Today programme hosted by Hugo R.P Ribatika talking about what the new set of American sanctions mean to Zimbabweans. I was joined by former Zimbabwean minister, Saviour Kasukuwere who was removed from the sanctions list on Monday. I explained that sanctions are used by the regime in Harare as cover to explain its failures and corrupt rule. I also talked about how corruption is the bedrock of Zimbabwe's problems, and how there is NO genuine political will to tackle it from within the Zimbabwean government. I explained that the election in 2023 was a corrupt activity, that is why we shouldn't expect a government that came into power through a corrupt, rigged and shambolic election to suddenly fight its own corrupt activities.

For too long, too many Congressional Dems and members of the media have been deceptively and dangerously targeting the entire U.S. energy sector that provides necessary, reliable, and durable baseload power. City of Harare admits air can trigger water meter charges The City of Harare and Helcraw Water say prepaid water meters work the same way as ordinary water meters. They say the meters are not faulty. According to the statement, when there is air trapped in water pipes after events like burst pipes, repairs, or when the water supply is restored, that air can pass through water meters and cause them to record water use even though mostly air is flowing. The city says this is a known challenge that affects both prepaid and conventional water meters, and that current technology cannot always tell the difference between water and large amounts of pressurised air. Residents are advised to close their taps immediately if only air is coming out and report the problem to the City of Harare or Helcraw Water so technicians can fix it. The city also says it is installing air release and pressure relief valves across the water network to reduce trapped air, improve the water system, and minimise incorrect meter readings caused by air. It says it remains committed to providing a reliable and transparent water supply.
