Natives were taking land from one another long before the white man came to the Americas. Europeans made the Americas a better place live for everyone.

This is awesome. People need to say NO to this land acknowledgement bullshit that we are on “unceded” territory. It was ceded, and the treaties they signed , gave it up in trade for other benefits , from the government in perpetuity. The fact that First Nations wished their ancestors hadn’t done so is irrelevant today!

Reminds me of a poem. “Get off this estate.” “What for?” “Because it’s mine.” “Where did you get it?” “From my father.” “Where did he get it?” “From his father.” “And where did he get it?” “He fought for it.” “Well, I’ll fight you for it.” -Carl Sandburg Selected Poems 1926

He’s right. Why are we to feel bad or apologize for things that happened in Canada hundreds of years ago? None of us did any of it. We can acknowledge it was wrong what happened to the indigenous people of Canada but it’s not our fault.

If settlers from all over the world did not come to a baronland risking it all to create a new life there would be nothing or a land domain called Canada!

Same here, born in Alberta. But I do care about my white settler ancestors who walked this land 200 years ago.
