🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 Could a sitting world leader be targeted for assassination while trying to attend his own father’s funeral? Professor Foad Izadi warns that Iran’s Supreme Leader allegedly faces active, extreme security threats from Tel Aviv even amidst ongoing diplomatic talks. Foad argues that when dealing with such an aggressive...

🎥 “They Want to Break Iran Apart”: Dr. Foad Izadi on U.S.-Israeli Strategy As Israel expands its war across the region—with full U.S. backing—Tehran-based professor Dr. Foad Izadi says the goal isn’t just regime change. “They want to create a failed state—like Libya. Break Iran apart. Separate the oil-rich provinces.” Those provinces, he explained, could be turned into a system like Saudi Arabia—delivering oil wealth to the U.S. in exchange for protection. “Then Trump can talk about all the foreign investment coming into the United States.” With Iran fragmented, Izadi said, “the rest of the Middle East can fall in line—under U.S. corporate control, Israeli military domination, and Arab petrodollars funneled westward. “Iran is the obstacle,” Izadi said. He described the war as an effort to undo Iran’s 1979 revolution. “Before the revolution, Iran was a U.S. client state. People overthrew that system. The current push is about returning Iran to what it was under the Shah.” Globally, Izadi argued, the U.S. seeks long-term leverage over China. “About 40% of China’s energy comes from this part of the world,” he said. “If the U.S. controls that oil, they can use it as a pressure point in any future confrontation.” And at the center of it all is Palestine. “Gaza is under genocide. And we’re the only state doing anything about it,” he said. “When you witness genocide, you’re not supposed to just watch—you’re supposed to act. That’s what Iran is doing.” jeremy scahill | فواد ایزدی Foad Izadi

🎥 Will Iran Abandon Nuclear Restraint? For decades, Iran has refrained from developing nuclear weapons—not because it lacked the technical capacity, but because of a deliberate political and religious decision. A fatwa from the Supreme Leader declared nuclear arms forbidden under Islam. But after the U.S. and Israel bombed three Iranian nuclear sites this weekend—sites under regular IAEA inspection—that restraint is now under serious strain. “There are people in Iran asking that question right now,” Dr. Foad Izadi told Drop Site’. The question: What’s the point of cooperation? Izadi noted that two nuclear-armed states just launched an unprovoked attack on a non-nuclear country, without credible evidence of a weapons program. He pointed to the U.S. intelligence community’s own March report, which states: ➤ Iran does not have a nuclear weapon. ➤ Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program. ➤ Iranian leaders have not made a decision to pursue one. Even IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, Izadi said, has consistently affirmed: “We have never found a nuclear weapons program in Iran.” Yet, Iran was bombed anyway. Izadi explained that the IAEA report cited by Western governments referenced materials from 20 to 30 years ago—files Iran believed were closed under the 2015 nuclear deal. Tehran now suspects Mossad may have planted radioactive traces to fabricate suspicion and justify military strikes. “There’s a lot of confusion and disinformation,” he said. But for many Iranians, the conclusion is simple: Iran upheld its obligations—and was attacked regardless. That, Izadi points out, is forcing a national reckoning with the logic of nuclear restraint. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 INTERVIEW: PROF. IZADI FROM IRAN - “Diplomacy is dead” This conversation changed how I'm reading the next 60 days, especially after Prof Foad Izadi broke down why Iran would prefer to shoot through the blockade rather than yield to the pressure We then discussed the UAE, why was it targeted more than all other Gulf nations: in his view, the UAE became the easiest and most valuable Western-aligned target in the Gulf We also got into something I didn't expect: his sharpest criticism of his own government. And to my surprise, it was very different to what I expected, and made for a very interesting conversation. We discuss: * Why Foad thinks Trump never wanted an off-ramp * What the Iranian military command is now openly preparing for, and why a U.S. ship in the Gulf is a target waiting to happen * Why the UAE was hit far harder than Saudi Arabia, Bahrain or Qatar, and the warning he sent through this interview * His most surprising critique of the Iranian government, which has nothing to do with the Supreme Leader, the IRGC, or the nuclear file فواد ایزدی Foad Izadi 00:48 Trump Blockade Is Act Of War 04:13 Iran Won't Cry Uncle To Trump 09:08 Both Sides Negotiating From Leverage 13:14 $250 Billion In Damage To Iran 17:10 Iran Will Shoot Through The Blockade 20:51 Why UAE Got Hit Harder Than Others 25:47 UAE Plundered By Western Companies 29:50 Israel Funding Global Islamophobia 35:24 Iran's Biggest Failure Since 1979 41:13 Engineers Are Good But Politicians Aren't
