Could Sheffield learn some lessons from Barnsley town centre?

I Can’t forgive Sheffield City Council who sided with Newcastle over Hillsborough Lepping lane when the report said they were No over Crowding then they went & Cut the capacity of the Lepping lane end Unbelievable plus Very Unfair ) if they had Won nothing would have been said

@olivercoppard As a proud sheffielder I look at the work Barnsley Council has done with the City centre with pure envy. Clean tidy modern, no graffiti and no drunk aggressive beggars passed out on spice. @SheffCouncil needs to have a serious look at Barnsley and get ours right.

Plenty for BMBC to do still

Barnsley council have done a really good job on their centre it’s a good mix of shops and they have parking! Sheffield council is just making the centre into a very large food hall, if you can get into the city centre.

It's not just the centre of Barnsley that requires that regeneration, if truth be told. Even though there are still a few buildings in the town centre that could do with some love and great businesses inside them (take a look at Wellington St for example) the outlying towns 1/

Look out for the new discount furniture store opening soon on Peel Street, Barnsley.... It's gonna be special 😁

Let’s hope the ‘re build’ of Sheffield city centre is not to the detriment of areas like Hillsboro, Woodseats, Crookes etc just like the mistake BMBC made @tobyfoster Hoyland, Wombwell & many other towns around are on their backside now cos of the spend in Barnsley town centre 🙈
