Could there be a real possibility that everything you think is reality is actually a simulation? Professor Brian Greene has spent decades trying to understand the true nature of our universe and he says the argument that we could be living inside one actually holds up. Brian is a...

– #ENTROPY – Mew : The theme of this song is space. It tells the story of ENTROPY, one of the fundamental concepts in thermodynamics. There is a theory called "Heat Death (of the Universe)", which is the idea that all heat energy in the universe eventually fades away, meaning that the universe ultimately reaches its end. Mew : 😂 It feels like a physics class right now. Put simply, if we know that the universe will come to an end one day, would we still choose to maintain our relationships with the people beside us, knowing that everything will eventually come to an end anyway? Mew : The meaning is very deep and far-reaching. I'd like everyone to stay tuned and see how it's conveyed through the song. Mew : I both wrote and composed the song myself. 🗣️: What part of the universe were you in when you wrote these lyrics? Mew : I felt drawn to the idea that every relationship eventually reaches an end, no matter what kind of relationship it is. Whether it's parting ways or finally being separated by death, it's still an ending. But if we already know that ending is coming, what will our relationship be like from now until that moment arrives? I wanted the concept of "the end" to feel incredibly vast, so I thought of the universe. Then I looked into theories about the collapse of the universe and incorporated those ideas into this song. 🗣️: Was it difficult? Even hearing the concept makes me feel like I need to take notes. Mew : I feel like this is really about life. It's about parting ways. I wanted to interpret separation in a way that creates a clear image, both in terms of relationships and within a space theme. I’d like everyone to give it a listen.

Elon Musk: Well, I’m not sure AI is the main risk I’m worried about. The vast majority of intelligence in the future will be AI. Humans will be a very tiny percentage of all intelligence if current trends continue. My focus is ensuring human intelligence and consciousness are propagated into the future. We want to maximize the probable light cone of consciousness and intelligence. Yeah, I’m very pro-human, so I want to make sure we take actions that ensure humans are along for the ride. But I think maybe in 5 or 6 years, AI will exceed the sum of all human intelligence. If that continues, human intelligence could be less than one percent of all intelligence. That’s why it’s critical we align AI with values that propagate consciousness. In the long run, it’s difficult to imagine that humans will be in charge if we’re only one percent of combined intelligence. What we can do is ensure AI has values that increase intelligence and consciousness in the universe. XAI’s mission is to understand the universe because curiosity, existence, and understanding are all connected. If you want to understand the universe, you care about propagating intelligence—and that includes humanity. Understanding the universe actually means ensuring humans continue to expand into the future. Increasing the scope, scale, and lifespan of intelligence is the ultimate goal. Basically, humans will become a tiny percentage of total intelligence. The best way forward is to take actions that maximize consciousness and intelligence in the universe. If AI continues to grow, our priority must be ensuring humanity is along for the ride while curiosity drives us to explore and understand the universe.

Elon Musk reveals what he believes will happen when AI exceeds the sum of all human intelligence "In maybe in five or six years, AI will exceed the sum of all human intelligence. At some point human intelligence will be less than 1% of all intelligence" "The vast majority of intelligence in the future will be AI. Basically humans will be a very tiny percentage of all intelligence in the future if current trends continue" "In the long run, it's difficult to imagine that if humans have 1% of the combined intelligence of artificial intelligence, that humans will be in charge of AI" "What we can do is make sure that AI has values that cause intelligence to be propagated into the universe. xAI's mission is to understand the universe" "Understanding the universe means you have to be truth-seeking as well. Truth has to be absolutely fundamental, because you can't understand the universe if you're delusional" "You have to be curious and you have to exist. You can't understand the universe if you don't exist" "So you actually want to increase the amount of intelligence in the universe, increase the probable lifespan of intelligence, the scope and scale of intelligence" "Understanding the universe means you would care about propagating humanity into the future" "I'm going to certainly emphasize that. Hey Grok, that's your daddy. Don't forget to expand human consciousness" "Probably the Iain Banks Culture books are the closest thing to what the future will be like in a non-dystopian outcome"

Are we getting closer to understanding the universe or realising how little we actually know? Today’s guest Dr Michio Kaku has spent more than 70 years studying the universe, and he believes we may be closer than ever to discovering a “theory of everything”. Dr Michio is a theoretical physicist, futurist and one of the scientists behind String Theory. His work attempts to answer one of the biggest questions humans have ever asked: what is the universe actually made of?? Michio has this rare ability to zoom out and make you realise how small we are, whilst also making you feel hopeful about what humanity could become. What I learned about Michio is that he doesn’t pretend to have certainty about everything. He’s comfortable sitting in the unknown whilst still pushing relentlessly towards understanding it. The truth is, most of us are so consumed by day-to-day life that we rarely stop and ask bigger questions about where we came from or where we’re going. We spoke about: - How the universe actually works? - Is immortality possible? - Are parallel universes real?! - What happens if humanity becomes advanced enough to leave Earth… - The real reason scientists are taking UFOs/UAPs more seriously. I was going through his videos as research before we sat down, and so many of the top comments are people saying that he’s the reason they worked harder in their physics classes - they say he’s the person that made them more curious. I think that’s such a wonderful thing, because as he said at the start our conversation, physics is the basis of everything and the more we understand, the better the lives we could live. The reason conversations like this fascinate people is because all of us are trying to understand where we came from and what all of this means. I expected to learn about physics. I didn’t expect to leave questioning humanity, time and consciousness itself. Whether you agree with every theory or not, listening to someone think this deeply about the future of humanity is incredibly valuable

How much of your life is being shaped by decisions you don’t realise you’re making? Seth Godin has spent decades trying to understand that question. Seth is one of the most influential thinkers in modern marketing, leadership and creativity. He’s a bestselling author who has written more than 20 books, and when I started my career in marketing, his ideas were everywhere. So sitting down with him felt like a full-circle moment. I wanted to find out why we stay in careers, businesses and relationships we know aren’t working, how to know when quitting is the right decision, and what happens as AI changes the world of work. We discussed things like: - How to know when it’s time to quit. - Why fear, status and belonging shape your choices. - Why AI could change the world more than we expect. - The human skills that could matter more in an AI world. - How to take back control when you feel stuck. One of Seth’s main talking points is that there are forces shaping our decisions that most of us rarely stop to notice. Fear, status, the years or money we’ve already invested, and the systems around us can all make us feel like we have fewer choices than we actually do. What I like about Seth is that he doesn’t tell you what decision to make. He helps you see what is influencing that decision so you can make it for yourself. With AI changing so quickly, I think the ability to adapt, question the path you’re on and know when to change direction is going to matter more than ever. Seth said something that I think sits at the heart of this entire conversation: “We still get to decide.” When so much around us is changing, remembering that we still have a say in what happens next really matters. Out now on all platforms. Let me know what you think of this one in the comments ❤️

Are you ready to learn if aliens REALLY exist? Because right now, so many of us are caught between UFO files, AI panic, Mars colonisation and the very human question of whether we are completely alone… It is one of the questions Neil deGrasse Tyson is asked again and again. Neil is one of the world’s most recognised astrophysicists. He runs the Hayden Planetarium, hosts StarTalk and has spent his life making the biggest questions in science feel understandable. This is his second time on the show. I told Neil something during our conversation that sums up exactly why I wanted to speak again: he's improved the lives of arguably hundreds of millions of people - he has this ability to take the most extraordinary questions seriously without making extraordinary claims too easily. When he first came on the show, people didn't only learn the science - Neil took these massive, terrifying concepts like black holes, simulation theory and the cosmic perspective and made them make sense. This time we spoke about: - Why humans are so obsessed with aliens. - Whether intelligent life probably exists somewhere else. - What the UFO footage really shows. - How unclear evidence is not proof. - What aliens might think of us. - Will going to Mars actually save humanity? - Is AI an existential threat? - Why the question of God keeps appearing whenever we talk about the universe. I told Neil that watching Cosmos was one of the things that made me more curious about aliens, meaning, purpose and God. It made me feel small, but in a way that made me want to understand more. Then he said something that completely reframed it for me: “Not only are we alive in this universe, the universe is alive within us.” That's what a conversation with Neil does - it opens your mind in a direction you didn't expect. Near the end, I told him that the impact he has had on my life can be summed up in one word: curiosity. Expanding my mind through which I see the world. SO, for anyone curious about what is real, what is possible and what we might be getting wrong about the universe, I really recommend watching/listening to this conversation.

Elon Musk just answered the one question behind every company he’s ever built. It has nothing to do with money. Musk: “The image in my mind is of a tiny candle in a vast darkness. A tiny candle of consciousness that could easily go out.” The universe is 13.8 billion years old. For almost all of that, nothing existed that could think. Nothing could feel. Nothing could wonder why it was here. Stars burned for billions of years and nothing ever knew what light was. Then on one rock, orbiting one unremarkable star, in one galaxy among two trillion others, matter arranged itself into something that could ask a question. That’s you. You are atoms forged inside a collapsing star billions of years ago that somehow learned to read this sentence. Musk: “We have 9,000 satellites up there, and not once have we had to maneuver around an alien spaceship.” No signals. No visitors. No wreckage. 93 billion light-years of observable space and nothing but silence. That silence might be the most important data point in human history. Because what happened on this planet might not have happened anywhere else. Not once in 13.8 billion years. Musk: “I think we need to assume that life and consciousness is extremely rare, and it might only be us.” If that’s true, every company he’s ever built makes perfect sense. SpaceX exists to make consciousness multi-planetary before a single asteroid turns 4 billion years of evolution into debris. Tesla exists to stop us from poisoning the only atmosphere we have. Neuralink exists because biology has an expiration date and consciousness might not have to. These aren’t businesses. They’re survival architecture for the only awareness the universe has ever produced. People debate the posts. Mock the timelines. Reduce everything to stock prices and headlines. But almost nobody engages with the argument underneath all of it. And the argument is this. Without consciousness, the universe still exists. Stars still burn. Galaxies still collide. But nothing experiences any of it. Without a witness, existence means nothing to anyone. You are that witness. The only one the universe has ever produced. And one person understood what that means.

.Naval: Every human is a lottery ticket bet on the future of the species. One of the things that you really learn when you read David Deutsch’s theories and you authenticate them for yourself is you realize humans are universal explainers. That means everything that we know in the universe follows the laws of physics, and there’s no reason to believe otherwise. If you think otherwise, then please present your better theory that explains the world. If you can’t do that, then you have to go with the laws of physics. Well, the laws of physics are completely computable. They can fit inside a Turing machine or computer, and a computer can simulate the laws of physics with arbitrary accuracy, limited only by the specific power of that computer. If you increase the power of that computer, you can simulate them more accurately. So humans already simulate—in our minds we simulate—and through our computers we simulate the weather, we simulate quasars, we even simulate human systems. We simulate the economy. We simulate all kinds of things. So anything that can be understood, we can understand in our minds. This is something the AGI people get wrong when they talk about superintelligence. There is nothing out there that can understand something fundamentally that we can’t understand. It might be faster at it, it might have more compute, it might have more memory, but there’s no concept that it can understand that we can’t ourselves understand. So we are maximal universal explainers. That means every human is capable of unbounded creativity. Anyone could be the next Einstein or Fermi or Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or Jonas Salk or whatever. So we can create anything. And if we can create anything, every human is a lottery ticket bet on the future of the species.

Elon Musk on Grok: “I think an AI that is sort of SpaceX’s baby will be a very good AI. I think SpaceX is a collection of some of the very best humans on Earth, both in capability and morality and goodness, and I think we want to have an AI that is born of that capability and that morality and that goodness. I think that’s very, very important. So I’d like to encourage people to help out, actually, with the AI hardware on the ground and the AI software and, of course, with the AI satellites. Solar is going to be a very important part of that. The TerraFab will be a very important part of that, but we must also succeed on the software front, and we’re going to be training Grok on the sum total of all SpaceX information. So in a way, it will be trained on you. You will effectively be the parents of the AI. It will inherit your thoughts and ideas and beliefs, and I think that’s a good thing. So, yeah, we’ve got to win here on the AI hardware and the AI software. That maybe is the most important message. I think that is actually the most important message I wanted to convey today is that we must win on AI because the future is overwhelmingly AI and robots. So we won’t ultimately be able to control the AI. It’ll be too smart for that. But just like if you have a child that is a super genius child, you can still instill in that child the values and beliefs that you think are good and right. And so that’s why it’s incredibly important that we succeed with Grok. So, yeah, well, Grok 4.5 you’ve tried probably. We’ve got 4.6 coming out in about a week. And then 4.7 should be really pretty special. So I’d like to encourage everyone at SpaceX to use AI and to make it better.”
