The Last Jedi was released 7 years ago today. I chuckle to myself when I think that when I left the theater, I thought this movie would be absolutely adored by the fandom. Or at least that people would be normal about what is just a movie. In any case, it remains my favorite SW movie in decades.

Emmanuelle Riva on why she felt 'Amour' (2012) was a project she couldn't pass on: "Michael Haneke had already chosen Jean-Louis Trintignant to play the husband. When I knew it was Trintignant I thought we would work well together on the film. And we did. Nobody who has seen the film can doubt that this is a couple who love each other, a couple everyone can believe in. I would have been very unhappy if he [Haneke] had chosen someone else for the role. As it was I was very happy. Totally happy throughout the whole two months of shooting. Of course I am totally in this role. I don't have any regrets because I couldn't have done a role like this at 40 years of age. This film arrived at the exact age of my life. What regrets could I possibly have? How could I say no to this film? A project so marvellous, of such quality with such a director. I didn't ask questions, I just said yes. They said the film's story would make people afraid, would put them off. It hasn't. The truth is this story could happen to anyone. #ManaShankaraVaraPrasadGaru — the theatrical experience of the premiere show peaked for me when #Chiranjeevi started dancing. When #SachinKhedekar sang the song in the previous scene, I knew that #Chiranjeevi would sing it too — like a tit-for-tat moment. But I never expected it to happen at the interval, with Chiru dancing. I thought it would come in the second half. This is easily one of the best interval blocks in Telugu cinema. #MSG #PeddiReddy
