BC Premier David Eby says he will not be welcoming former Conservative MLAs into the BC NDP because they don't share the same values as the BC NDP. Liberals can have a purity test. The BC NDP can have a purity test. But Conservatives are supposed to shut up and elect a Liberal as our leader because our values, don't matter. Funny how that works, eh? Eby does say Amelia Boultbee's values align with BC NDP values, so she was accepted into the party, despite being elected by Conservative party voters. This affirmation comes after Amelia repeatedly lied to the 22K Summerland evacuees about why the BC NDP didn't call in the CAF, who were on standby, ready to protect homes in the community. Unlike the NDP and Conservatives, who are only fighting for themselves, our Liberal government will stay focused on fighting for Canadians and delivering key programs like childcare and dental care that are making a real and tangible difference in their lives. I'm looking forward to heading back to Ottawa in a couple of weeks and making parliament work for Canadians.
