i was on BA8 a few years ago and was kinda annoyed that they dimmed the windows for about 11 hours when i wanted to look outside for the entire flight, so i'd be grateful for it 😆

Sure, how common is this route? Definitely shorter, but flying over the pole doesn't offer many places for emergency diversion.
