Hold on - there is no EVIDENCE of aliens and yet this guy says you have to BELIEVE there are aliens. How is this different to religion?

this guy is such a piece of work. remember qhen he would laugh at people and say aliens dont exist. there are 100s of videos of him doing that. now that it is main stream to talk about this he is jumping ship and pretending to be an authority of this subject

We live in a universe that is almost unimaginably huge. There are so many stars and planets that, if life can start the way it did on Earth, then simple alien life is extremely likely to exist somewhere. Intelligent life is also very possible. The real problem is not whether they exist , it is the insane distances. Light (and any signal or spaceship) takes so long to travel that we may never meet or even clearly detect them. Distance isolates us. Physics breakdown and a black hole we don’t even truly understand dark matter or dark energy. What way is actually up , what way is actually down. Are we going left, Are we going right, maybe even diagonal , we truly don’t know , at the moment. if it’s infinite , our minds aren’t capable of understanding it because we truly don’t think , infinite, unless it’s our afterlife ofc , and even some religions have a rebirth, a reborn . The puzzles there we just have to learn how to understand it .

Of course aliens exist but it depends on your definition…. Are there aliens species flying around the galaxy like in Hollywood? Of course not Is there another planet where an organism exists and is alive? Certainly

I'm not interested in "making the case" for why they exist. They do. If people can't fathom that at this point, that's on them. What I want to know is: Why is it important to them that we live? Because it's not like they couldn't have ended us already.

If "LIFE" was so common in the entire universe, we would have seen signs of it already. Just as the great exploration of the 15th & 16th centuries, there would be contact with other, more advanced "life". They would have showed us new technologies or came here hostile. They would have signs of life, visible from afar. I believe we are all alone & God put us here. There is more proof of that than there is of life elsewhere in the solar system. Jesus Christ is our Lord & Savior. If we have anything come down on this planet that looks like "ALIENS" from another planet, they are DEMONS & they are not here for good reasons.

With a sample of only 1(us), the math seems to point towards us being alone. It doesn’t seem probable, but it’s not impossible there’s aliens. Abiogenesis is extremely rare in the universe apparently.

Tyson comes across so pompous to me. Certainly there are aliens? Probably there are aliens. His case for is exactly right, but the case against is pretty simple too: “we have no evidence they exist” which is true even if we’ve only searched a small area and odds are against it.

His logic is completely flawed. You cannot conclude that because there is life on 1 sample (which is ours), it must also be elsewhere. Depens on probability of life emerging, and we don't know that probability.
