Lee spent a lifetime on the edge of illusion—from the Hammer Horrors of old to LOTR, and a final bow as Wonka’s father in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Christopher wasn't just an actor who worked with cinematic pioneers— he WAS a pioneer. This slap has merit.
