I don't know if Normal type Z Power shields against Ghost type moves. It's crazy if that's the reason he used it omg. Like as soon as Pikachu connects and the energy shield is lifted the ghost type move strikes 😲 Or i beleive he used breakneck Blitz to strike first

It’s genius It increases speed and Normal/Ghost cancel each other out, so it works as a shield. Plus Zoroark’s a pure dark type and NOT immune. He can’t guarantee they won’t get hit and go down. But at least this way Pikachu can strike first and take Zoroark out with it.

Ash was like if I'm going down I'm going down with you

Ash vs Gladion is way too underrated when you realize how this is one of the best battle when it comes to showing Ash's skills.

Ghost type moves don’t have any effect on Normal types!

That’s actually genius though Both attacks can’t connect because they’re immune to each other

It makes sense though. Ghosts and normals normally don’t affect eachother.

This just shows that Ash is much smarter than people think. Alola Ash is a good mix of Sinnoh Ash and a more playful Ash.
