THEO VON: “Will you define socialism for us?” MAMDANI: “Socialism, to me, means that you will have WHATEVER YOU NEED to live a dignified life, and that it is the GOVERNMENT’S JOB to deliver on that.” I’ve heard a line like that before. It came from a famous book, and it was describing the highest stage of communism.

In June, Colombians took to the streets to celebrate the fall of socialism. Today, 58% of Democrats have a positive view of socialism. Before America embraces socialism further, we should listen to the people celebrating their freedom from it.

Military Veteran on the Rise in Socialism/Communism: “I think that voters are not going to reject it because they have no idea what communism is. My family lived… their whole lives were under communism. And I blame the colleges. The colleges and the school system don’t teach these kids what communism [is] where we are. How we became a country as what we are today.”

Scenes like this are what make me worry about communism. That doctor or nurse, whoever she is and I know it’s only a show, but in real life she should have been arrested immediately and had her license taken. She does not have the right to forcibly give a child antibiotics against the parents’ wishes, whether the parents are right or wrong. It is their right to choose not to put pharmaceuticals in their child. Shows like this push the envelope toward communism.

Jonathan Swan tells Bill Maher that Trump losing the 2020 election was probably the best thing that ever happened to him politically. His argument is that if Trump had won in 2020, he would have been hobbled by COVID, and he would have had to deal with the inflation that hit countries around the world. Another point he made was that Trump wouldn't have had the time to assemble the team that he wanted. cc: realtimehbo
