The British stole trillions of dollars from their empires. They murdered, they rape. They carried out genocide in the name of the British Empire.

⁨They Couldn’t Conquer Memory The Benin Kingdom built nearly 10,000 miles of walls by hand; the British Empire tore them down in days and stole the bronzes. Europe didn’t “discover” Africa, it looted it, then called the ruins history.⁩

🇺🇸 250 years ago we declared independence from the British Empire. 125 years ago, they stole it back—and erased the evidence. This July 4th, Trump is reclaiming what McKinley died for: the American System.

The most underappreciated people and empire on earth are the British. You’re reading this in English, after all.

The Difference Between The US Empire And The British Empire "The US empire is a larger, stronger, sneakier, bitchier, less honest, more manipulative version of what the British Empire was. The British Empire told its subjects that they were the property of the King and must do as His Majesty commands. The US empire subjugates people by tricking them into thinking they are free." Reading by Tim Foley.

I am sick of hearing people moaning about the British Empire & that we should feel some sort of guilt. It makes no sense to compare today’s social standards to standards of the past. You want to talk about British Empire? Fine compare it to other empires. In the context of empires, the British Empire was arguably the most progressive in history. - abolished slavery - brought law & order to countries - brought democracy to countries - improved education standards across the world - improved women rights across the world Context is key. Study the impact of all empires before commenting on Britain’s.

Indian gentleman vs. Oxford University students. The British Empire was a force for good, the 5 richest African countries were once British colonies or protectorates. We brought democracy to countries all over the Empire. We built hospitals, schools, courts and sanitation systems. We outlawed widow burning in India, we stopped slavery across the empire, we gave people the opportunity to work and earn. We did far more good than bad yet schools governed by left wing crazies would have you believe it was an Empire of monsters and takers. They’re wrong.
