Plus, you can now set global and folder instructions that Claude carries into every session. Cowork on Windows is in research preview and available to all paid Claude plans:

uh guys...im at home.

awesome! here's a complete guide to Cowork for our new windows friends you do it IN cowork so everything is directly applicable 100% free

cowork on windows means every enterprise with a "no macs" policy just lost their last excuse for not using claude

Claude cowork be like :

Niiicee! Big testing day for Windows users 👀

“Hey Claude, de-shittify this OS” $ rd /s /q C:\Windows\System32

good. now I want Sonnet 5.0

Nice! I used cowork to file my German taxes on the weekend

Boo, make it available on Ubuntu :(

Looks like some kind of error on your site. Here is a screenshot of the URL the download button takes me to (Windows download)

for anyone who can't install it; you have to put on Developer Mode for windows to install and use it. You can put on on settings>system>advanced

I don't see it, what am I missing?

linkedin crowd is gonna love this!

how does this work? cowork is a gui wrapper on claude code. cc runs bash commands and ad hoc python scripts (eg pdf skill has a bunch of python dependencies). how does a non technical windows user ensure they have all the dependencies? do they need git bash? are you running a container locally for it all?

Claude is cooking with everything they publish and keeping the consistency world-class 👏

LET’S GOOO

No cowork tab in the windows app, cowork settings window doesn't render anything, what am I missing here...Max subscriber.

Try debugging this multiple different ways, could not figure it out. Still not working. and I also put in a bug request for this. Need help. This is very urgent please!!

Your windows download link is not working!!!

Installed the latest version of Claude for Windows and there's no sign of Cowork. Also, your "Now available on Windows" popup on the website links to a .dmg file for MacOS.

windows users finally getting invited to the automation world.

What about linux?

I mostly work on Linux, support for that would be really neat.

cfos everywhere rejoicing

Testing it right now. Doesn't seem to work at all. All the buttons are greyed out and unresponsive. The Chat and Code tabs work fine.

I have an error

The MCP connector support is the real unlock here. I've been building a full-stack mobile app with Claude Code + custom MCP servers for browser automation, database access, and real-time coordination. Having that same setup work on Windows means my whole team can use the same workflow regardless of OS. The "global and folder instructions" feature is also huge — being able to set project context once and have it carry across sessions saves so much repeated prompting.

Linux bros. Here's where we cook for real

My Claude won’t respond to anything now. Does anyone else have this issue as well?

Been running Claude Code on Linux through OpenClaw for months. Cowork on Windows means the last holdout platform gets proper agent support. The folder instructions feature is clutch - we use per-project files to give each agent workspace context without repeating ourselves.

what’s the Microsoft 365 connection all about? Is there an official MCP supported by Microsoft? Is this an Anthropic plugin?
