MP Rupert Lowe MP lays out the barbarity of halal slaughter & Naz Shah MP intervenes to say most Halal is stunned. Lowe says it is a lower voltage & I can add the animal has to be conscious enough to hear the Islamic prayer called Tasmiyah or Basmalah. This is shocking. A protester has been arrested outside Hartshead Meats today. The police officers were already well aware of the motivations for this protest, and the only intention has been to raise awareness about the recently exposed torture of cows inside. Recent hidden-camera footage shows Hartshead workers of various backgrounds committing egregious acts of cruelty to animals inside the facility. The protesters’ focus has always been on the treatment of animals and the conduct inside the slaughterhouse, not on anyone’s race or religion. Adding to this madness, to our knowledge, not a single Hartshead worker has been charged in relation to the horrors captured on the hidden-camera footage, yet a peaceful protester has now been arrested. This appears to be serious overreach by these officers. At the time of posting, the protester is still in police custody.

It's an absolute lie that 88% of halal meat in the UK is stunned. The Mohammedan definition of 'stunning' requires that the animal is able to regain consciousness and is alive when Allah’s name is called at the time of slaughter.
