Islamabad: JUI Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman attended the 3rd Joint Consultative Meeting (JCM) of Political Parties of Pakistan and China on #CPEC, held today in Islamabad. The event was co-chaired by the Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan and Mr. Liu Jianchao, Minister of International Department of the Communist Party of China. Maulana Fazl ur Rehman: There is a consensus in Pakistan regarding Pak-China relations. Pak-China friendship has always transcended our political differences. Pakistan attaches importance to peaceful co-existence and cooperative relations in the region and supports progress towards it. Pakistan believes in peaceful and equitable resolution of disputes. We are grateful that China has always supported Pakistan unconditionally on the Kashmir issue and Pakistan has also always supported China unconditionally on the Taiwan issue. Pak-China relations, which were mentioned by the speakers before me, is a shared vision of all of us and I am proud that JUI Pakistan and CPEC are friends and we want to make this friendship meaningful and see it beneficial for the people of both countries. The credit for the progress made in this regard also goes to the Parliament of Pakistan and the CPC when in 1995 the CPC (China) invited the Foreign Committee of the National Assembly of Pakistan and briefed us on the new economic vision. Then on behalf of Pakistan, we presented Pakistan's "Trade Via Pakistan" concept. And for seven days, we discussed this topic in every meeting continuously, and after seven days, the CPEC informed our delegation that they supported the proposal. I regret that by today it should have been completed, but some obstacles have definitely come in the middle, which are a matter of concern for us as well as for you, but China-Pakistan's commitment to CPEC is strong. With this commitment, we also have to complete all the suspended projects and Insha-Allah we have to lay the foundations of cooperation with each other in different fields, take them forward and China & Pakistan will prove to be the top priority in each other's friendship and relations all over the world and no obstacle will be allowed in it. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the President of the Republic of Belarus, His Excellency Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko, on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek today. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the President of the Republic of Belarus, His Excellency Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko, on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek today. The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the positive trajectory of Pakistan–Belarus bilateral relations and the robust cooperation across political, trade, economic, defence, and cultural fields. While recalling President Lukashenko's historic visit to Pakistan in November 2024, followed by the Prime Minister's memorable visit to Belarus in April 2025, the two leaders agreed to further enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, industry, agriculture, IT and vocational training as priority sectors. As the incoming Chair of the SCO Council of Heads of State, the Prime Minister extended a warm and cordial invitation to the President of Belarus to undertake a visit to Pakistan next year. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment and resolve to elevate the long-standing friendly relations between Pakistan and Belarus to new heights.

At the airport he was recieved by China's Special Representative on Afghanistan Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong, Pakistan's Ambassador to China and officers of Pakistan Embassy. In Beijing, he will co-chair the 7th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday. DPM/FM will also attend events marking the beginning of the 75th year of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties, with both countries planning initiatives and commemorative activities throughout 2026.

During his visit, he will attend the signing ceremony for the Agreement on the Establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO), and sign the Agreement on behalf of Pakistan as a founding member. He will also attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 World AI Conference on 17 July and hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts. Upon arrival at the airport, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister was received by Mr. Wu Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Shanghai; Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires to China, Mr. Aizaz Khan; and Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai, Mr. Shahzad Ahmad Khan.
