Can someone tell me how a cam shaft gets bent like that?

Camshafts are cheap enough to replace. Why would anyone take a chance like this?

Errrrr, CAMshaft, not CRANKshaft, the 2 are very, very different things. I can’t think of a single occurrence that would cause it to bend like that. In fact I’m thinking the video is in reverse and heating it caused the bend

First off that's a cam shaft and no it's not repaired it's junk now the hardness is gone from the material where he heated it.

While I appreciate the ingenuity, I personally would not knowingly run that camshaft in any of my vehicles. The metal structure is surely changed and/or compromised, and while it would work, longevity is in question.
