His wife is here and they are allowing her. I asked them why they have kept him here, we were told that he is showing potassium deficiency. I had taken his blood sample at 3 pm yesterday and potassium was normal at that time. It was 4.8, higher than the normal value of 3.5. Now, they are saying the value has dropped. When his wife is asking for a report, they are not giving one to her. This is suspicious, so I am collecting his blood and taking it for a report. I will present the report to you. We do not trust the Govt lab. His wife has given it in writing to the Govt hospital that he be discharged from here at the earliest and we be permitted to take him to another hospital. His wife has said that the march to Parliament on 20th July will go on as decided and Sir too will be a part of it but if he doesn't come his wife will join it..."

News on Ben Casparius & Alex Freeland. Both have been optioned down, but neither is going to lose an option year. As Alex Freedman, the AAA Comets PxP, describes in the video below, each player gets 3 option years before they can no longer be sent down to the Minor Leagues. A player has to spend at least 20 days in the Minor Leagues for it to be considered an option year. And, that time has to be AFTER they have had their contract selected and added to the 40-man roster. So, the time Alex Freeland spent BEFORE his contract was selected this year does NOT count towards his 20 days. He was optioned down on September 6th, so he will NOT reach his 20 days, and will still have ALL 3 option years remaining. So will Ben Casparius! Sucks for the player, good for the org., because those types of situations are, many times, the determining factors of decisions that are made. There was no need for this Bill to be linked with the delimitation exercise. Knowing fully well that if 2011's census or latest census becomes the basis for delimitation, southern India will lose out heavily. Modi Govt introduced this Bill, which they knew very well, will not be able to get the 2/3rd majority that is required for a Constitutional amendment. Had the IPL been held on its schedule, had there not been an India-Pakistan conflict and had IPL not been postponed for a week, then final would have been held on 25th May in Kolkata itself and the playoffs in Hyderabad. After the schedule was changed, the weather conditions started having an impact. Broadcaster too said that the weather in Kolkata is predicted to be bad on the said days, there is likely to be rainfall, the match can be washed out and they would suffer heavy losses. They requested a venue where the rainfall is less likely. All the venues, including Delhi, Lucknow, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. Ed Johnson, election integrity expert, alerts me to a danger to the implementation of the Texas redistricting plan and election integrity. He discovered an amendment slipped thru the regular session that allows voters to move their registration within counties on election day, enabling organized efforts to swamp one district with voters from another in the big counties to game redistricting. He met with Greg Abbott yesterday to discuss the problem and to discuss adding a solution to the problem to this second special session. The video below shows State Rep Matt Shaheen adding this problematic language on May 28. Note the pleased reaction of Dem Reps Erin Zweiner and John Bucy in the video. The offending language added a new section to Election Code 15.025: "(e) A voter’s registration takes effect immediately upon the registrar’s receipt of a notice of the voter’s change of address submitted under Section 15.021, Section 63.0011, Section 15.053, or Chapter 20 if the voter changes residence within the same county as the voter’s current registration address." Before I heard about this problem, I have said that I think the evidence shows that the price extracted from the Burrows Uniparty Team for the Dems putting him into power this session was the gutting of election integrity laws. I think this more evidence of cooperation between the Dems and the Burrows team to thwart election integrity. If you agree that this issue needs to be fixed, use this link, I urge you to contact the governor's office, urging him to add a fix for this same day registration problem to the special session call. This is the text I used in my submission: Please add to the second special session call: Legislation that will not allow any immediate effect of voter registration within 30 days of an election. Specifically, Texas Election Code 15.025(e) that was added as an amendment to 89th SB 2217 needs to be deleted. *** BTW, note that no one snapped to the problem as the amendment was introduced at the end of a very long session in the hard slog in consideration of lots of bills. I am not sure I would have, either. I thank Ed Johnson for this catch and his efforts to rectify it.

For the past five years, I have fought to pass legislation that would allow judges to keep those charged with the most violent offenses behind bars without bail until their trial. The two migrants that recently entered the U.S. and are now charged with the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray are perfect examples of when bail should be denied. Since they are charged with capital murder, current law would allow that, and we will be watching to see what the judge does in this case. DOES ANYONE REASONABLY THINK THEY SHOULD BE RELEASED BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY BEFORE TRIAL? To those who worked to block my bail reform legislation from becoming law, you are compromising the safety of your fellow Texans, plain and simple. Despite passing my bills multiple times out of the Texas Senate with bipartisan support (including support from then-Senator and now Mayor John Whitmire), this important legislation was thwarted every time by a cadre of legislators who prioritize defending dangerous individuals over standing up for victims of violent crime and the community at large. Giving judges the ability to deny bail for the most violent offenders will remain a priority for me next session. We must get this passed. #txlege
