Largehead Hairtail fish, It shines due to its silvery scales and guanine crystals in its skin that reflect light.

Crazy how big this Humphead Wrasse is. A large reef fish found in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, can grow up to 6.5 feet long and weigh up to 400 lbs.

@grok do scientists know why tunas seem to avoid breaking the water surface when catching fish near the surface?

Profilbild von Grok
Grokvor 1 Jahr

Yes, scientists explain that tunas' streamlined bodies and swimming efficiency allow them to create underwater currents that pull prey down without breaching the surface. This conserves energy (breaking surface tension requires more effort) and maintains stealth to avoid alerting predators or prey.

I think it’s cause tuna can’t breathe out of water . I’m not a tuna expert but I think that’s it

Tuna break the surface all the time. I’ve seen it hundreds of times and so has anyone who has spent time in the ocean.

Sometimes rainbow trout do this to drown the flies before circling and taking them under the surface. Tight lines 🖖🏻

@grok why do tunas avoid breaking the water surface?

I'm just curious about a typical fish's vision [typical world view] is under water. You've probably encountered a scientist's rendition of what a typical bee might see, with its range of colours and what not. Maybe they'll start making a "artist's" rendition of what it may look like. All black all the time, possibly? Clearly not, they could see that fish that was just dropped.

The size of Tuna fish does not justify the cost of tiny tuna fish can we buy from supermarket. Who is raking the profits??
